And Natasha has been a star - loved every minute of it. I've just put her to be and she said 'tory.....pease', so I read her a story, and then she snuggled down, shut her eyes, smiled and said 'happy'. I really had to fight back tears. :o :A

Buffy, could you do an inventory list of whats in the cupbaords (with dates) and then challenge Mum to use it all before buying again. I am sure using the old style thread you can make a far few lovely meals.

I remember my brother having a party when he was about five and the boys tearing the house apart. I tried so hard to get them to sit and play pass the parcel but they wanted to play guns and break stuff. Carnage!

Buffy, how old were the tins of food. Unless they had blown, or were from the 1990s then they hould be fine to eat.
Same with frozen stuff, prawns tend to get a bit of freezer burn, making them a bit rubbery, but as long as stuff is properly cooked, it should be perfectly edible.

If mum is buying too much veg and it's going off, then what about buying frozen, or, making a fridge debris soup (recipes on OS board ;) ) This could be frozen and you could have it for lunch.

How about you doing an inventory of food in the house and then coming up with some meal ideas between you.

Beanie, sorry to hear about the mickey.
