Money missing from my account!

Hi all,
This is a bit of a strange one but if anyone can help me you guys can! :T
I have noticed for many many months now that £2 mysteriously disappears from my Barclays current account and then appears again a few days later. It doesn't actually go anywhere, it just disappears off my available balance as if I have a pending payment (which I don't) and then appears back again just as suddenly. Nothing ever shows up on my statements and it is always £2.
I have rung Barclays and they have logged it as a complaint but I was just curious as to whether anyone else had this happen?
I know it's only £2 but where does it go? I wonder if Barclays sneak a couple of quid from people's accounts on a regular basis just to play with it and then return it? Paranoid I know!
Thanks.

This has happened to me 3 times in the last month. My husband paid by debit card for £15 petrol but when I checked my bank there was £45 difference between the balance and amount available. I phoned the bank and they said that there was a £15 debit pending but couldn't trace the other £30 and to phone them back later that day after the system updated and see if they could trace it. When I phoned back she said that somehow the £15 debit had messed up my account, possibly the person in the shop had put it through 3 times by mistake and that when the £15 transaction cleared the £30 would automatically go back into my account. The next week the difference was £13.95 and this time they said it was for £9.95 and four £1 transactions, she said that it could be transactions with my debit card through internet payments. I hadn't bought anything and I'm sure I would have remembered spending £1 four times. This took four days for the money to appear back into my account. Last week it happened again for £11 and again the bank couldn't trace where it was going to as there was no information showing in the system. Again it went back in within a couple of days. The girl at the bank told me that if the person putting the debit through makes a mistake then it can mess up your account, she said that because she works in a bank and sees the things that can go wrong she never uses her debit card and always pays by cheque or cash. Think I'll have to start doing the same.0

OMG! This happened on my old Halifax cardcash account for years! Halifax didn't have a clue as to what it was  It was a joint acct and they couldn't even tell who's debit card it was. They advised me to cancel the debit cards one at at time so that I could tell. Yeah right! What a palaver! It was always £2 pending and then would appear again! Only got resolved when we got a current account!Mortgage-free wannabe!0

I don't know about barclays, but abbey told me it was to check if the account was active. With them it was £1, it went and then came back several days later. When it was missing I complained to the branch staff and they were why worry it's only £1.Barclaycard 3800

That's ridiculous! It may only be a pound or two to them but the bottom line is IT IS NOT THEIR MONEY!

To be honest I don't use the account much as it had other problems. The thing that worried me was I live right up to the max of my overdraught, at the moment its got about 70p left (I paid mortgage yesterday). If that £1 had been missing, I would have been over and abbey arn't shy about charging people.Barclaycard 3800
