What's each bank's policy on taking Bank Giro Credits?

I've done that on a branch draft before. Well, similiar.
All of our internal accounts have an overdraft limit of £999,999,999. I figured if I wrote out a cheque for that amount, let it clear and collected the interest... then I could just reverse it out, right? Just a couple of nights of interest?
Sadly, I never had the balls to cash that draft.
What would William Shatner do?0 -
A quick sum says that would net about £25k. Worth a shot, surely? I mean, by the time the cheque had cleared and you'd netted a few days interest... well, it wouldn't really matter if you got sacked, to be honest, would it?

(Note to any HSBC lawyers reading this: no, I am not bloody considering this. I have neither the cojones or the wherewithal. Sadly.

It was a mistake. I meant to process the entries for £99.99, you see...What would William Shatner do?0

"That the entries went to the MoneySavingExpert.com top instant access savings account may have been a mistake. Sort codes are funny things."0

No. First Direct don't provide student or graduate accounts, and HSBC and First Direct are more or less seperate banks.0 -

Back in the good old days.
That would be when the banks actually managed their affairs properly then?;)0
