  • Does anyone know of any fabric or craft bits factory shops? I once went to a printed fabric shop somewhere near Hyde or Glossop, I can't remember the name of it, but I would love to go there or somewhere similar again for patchwork fabrics.

2 near me which don't seem to be on map, although mentioned at start of this thread:

Eveden Ltd, Rothwell Rd, Desborough, Northants NN142PG 01536 760282. Underwear & swimwear shop, Fantasie, Freya, Goddess, Elomi, Goddess. £5 to £25 for bras, matching knickers, cup sized swimwear. Open Tues - Sat 9(?)-4pm, do fittings (book or Saturday). Great for large cups in particular.

& a handbag shop which I can't remember name or address of so will have to go to tomorrow if I have time. May pop into bra shop as I'm in the area. The things I do for MSE :rotfl:

    Love the map, thanks :T

Just to update.. I finally remembered where it is, and have been back today. It is as good as I remembered, fat quarters for 50p, loads of remnants and fabrics for £1 a metre. Well worth a visit.

    Lightbodys cakes
    73 Bothwell Road
    Hamilton ML3 0DW
    01698 285 227

Factory shop is open to public I think the hours are 11-2.

Birthday and celebration cakes. Lightbody's make birthday cakes for the leading supermarkets. In the factory shop these cakes cost £2.00 and in the supermarkets they charge between £6 & £8.

Also get packets of individual cakes like crispy cakes and fruit fingers for about 50p. There is often a queue of people to get the best items. Phone before you go as last time I went think the opening times were different.

  • Hi All,

Had an inaugural visit to Dewhirst Impressions in Redcar on thursday. Got a monsoon blouse for £6, and a monsoon pannelled linen mix skirt for £6 too! (If you live locally, and register, you get a £5 voucher (no min spend) posted out every 6 months or so.)

Am still a newbie, but there is a website www.impressions.uk.com (although most of the stores are in the North east, although 1 in driffield and 1 in swansea)

    Enjoy!

Don't know if this is the right type of post for this thread but, I visited Burton upon trent the other day and in their indoor market was a super little sweet shop with containers full of smarties, flakes, mars and everything you could hope to find in a sweet shop really. The containers were all £1 ish and were proper makes, cadbury's etc. I had to buy a few bits :)

    There's a Clarke's Factory Outlet at the Elephant and Castle SE1 6TB

I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...

I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!
