    I'm intrigued now :)

    Is this right?

You are paying more than the government/csa require of you because your total income has dropped.

You are not going to do anything about this and the payments will remain the same unless the PWC requests a reassessment - even though as NRP you are perfectly entitled to ask for a reassessment yourself.

The PWC may or may not ask for a reassessment and in any case will get to keep any extra money up until the time that an assessment is requested and you are contacted for your new details.

And this is not nice because the PWC may get a shock depending on whether they push for a new assessment, although in the meantime they get more than they are due and if they don't ask for a reassessment, will continue to do so.

I'd love to be in on something where you were actually putting yourself out to be nice :p

The difference is not much but certainley above the 5%, yes I could ask for a reassesment but I would feel in a similar boat to the OP's ex as if Im trying to evade. I assume PWCs ask for a re-assesment with the view to getting more payment, I know much of the money went on a newer vehicle and even more tattoos . But now the novelty has worn off , I am well informed that I am missed .:o

Actually there is a bit of schism between my daughter and my ex - I found out yesterday that he's contacted the CSA to get payments reviewed (less nights so less reductions). I haven't bothered because I've been hoping they can sort it out between them.

So NRP contacted them to increase payments and PWC didn't bother :p

From the figures quoted, the PWC would get £42 pw , she is getting £37 iirc, all the sanctions that can be imposed to get another £5 pw is not cost effective, I wouldnt want my tax money to be assisting chasing such a small amount when there are people who don't pay and PWCs (not the OP, fiddling the DSS) .

Not the way I read Zara's case - it is not just the variation.

The case should work out like this
    Income £419
Less reduction for child in NRP care 15% £ 62
    £357
    Payment for 1 child 15% £53

The change is not £5, it is £16.

The only other issue is - not knowing where nrp lives, the email could be true that he is trying to s*crew the payments, or he could genuinely have split with 2nd partner.

Whether it's £5 or £50 it's the principle of the matter as far as i'm concened. Claiming to be living apart is fraud, makes me wonder if they are lying to anyone else apart from the CSA.

Exactly. There would be an uproar on here if you were keeping quiet about something or blatantly lying to keep more CS so I fail to see why it is different for the NRP.

Possibly tax credits and that brings into it further income, becuase, as far as I am aware, any income from children's tax credit is included as income of the NRP. Not that I agree with this being included, but that could be another amount that Zara 33 is being deprived of.

Zara may need to check to see if any child tax credits are indeed in payment for that child.
