only the one for whom you pay contact costs will be reduced - as your payments are split, the other one won't be affected.

Zara, the full contact costs will be offset against the NRP income in the calculation of maintenance for the case to which it refers. Does your ex have another case?

    CM assessment:

    Part A

Average net weekly income : £419.96
Adjustments to average net weekly income
    Variation £49.80

    Part B

Number of children maintenace calculation is for 2
Percentage of net weekly income used 20%
The weekly rate of child maintenance is £74.03
Amount rounded to nearest pound £74

    Part C

Your share of the weekly rate is £37.00
Amount payable to you is £37.00
There are no adjustments to this amount
The weekly amount Mr blah blah blah must pay you is £37.00

Variation of £49.80 was what i queried and was told this was contact costs for his other child that he lives with.

So he is saying it costs £64 per week to maintain contact with his other child - where is this other child supposed to live???? The impact on your assessment is only about £4 per week though. Appeal against it.

The whole issue of the other case in existence needs investigation as you said - have you asked it to be referred to criminal compliance as it is a criminal offence to knowlingly provide false info to the CSA and making a false claim is indeed one of them!

Just phoned the CSA again  apparently i cannot ask for my case to be sent to criminal compliance again the onus is on me to prove that the NRP and his partner are lying, as a govenment agency they cannot phone the NRP and claim that he is lying . If i can prove that they are infact lying then it will be refered to a complex case officer.

The point of the criminal compliance team is to investigate alleged fraud - which is what this clearly is!!! There are 2 sides to compliance - those who are not providing info etc and those who are lying.

I have to agree with Zara from my experiences :(

I've been told that the CSA is not investigative and that it is up to me to give any proof of my allegations as the ex has a right to be believed.

I just don't understand why, if two people are claiming different things, the CSA (as a government agency) cannot look at the vast resources they have at their disposal and ascertain the truth of the matter from NI, tax and benefit claim records.

Ha Ha And neither is the FBI

CSA will say anything to anyone if they can add another piece of info to your file.
