SunnyGirl, I hope your dad recovers ok, and that you are not letting things get to you too much. Take care. OSx
Edited to add: I've had a rotten week as my Dad has been in hospital having heart surgery that didn't exactly go to plan but the menu planning has been a life saver, especially with stopping the boys eating complete rubbish left to their own devices. We only resorted to a takeaway once & a snacky type meal once too. As I knew what I was cooking it was easy to get it out of the freezer & prepare as much as possible in advance.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I've been unemployed for 2 months, so should have really done this when I was off. Doh!
Anyway...i'll start from today: -
Saturday - Snacky dinner (rice cakes/cheese/fruit) [I had a pub lunch so wasn't really hungry]
Sunday - Chinese takeaway (to celebrate the new job!)
Monday - Meatballs with pasta/spaghetti
Tuesday - Meatballs with pasta/spaghetti *
Wednesday - Cheese and tomato omelette with salad
Thursday - Going to try http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/9063/spiced-chickpea-and-potato-fryup with some HM bread of some description if I can be bothered making some
Friday - Salmon with couscous/noodles
Saturday - Homemade pizza with salad
Sunday - Vegetable stirfry
* might swap with Sunday, depends if I fancy it 2 days in a row
Let's see how long it lasts
Oops, it didn't last very long! I had leftover Chinese from last night so have had that tonight.
The meatballs were going to be made from sausages and as i'd already taken them out of the freezer I needed to cook them, but didn't get a chance to make them so shoved the sausages in the slow cooker this morning with a tin of tomatoes, an onion and some garlic. I'll have that tomorrow and Wednesday with something (potatoes probably).
The omelette will happen later in the week as I have loads of eggs to use so will forget the salmon this week as it can just stay in the freezer.
Must try harder!Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
