Morning everyone
Snaggles, that sounds awful, I do hope you manage to sort things out. Is there another school close to you that he can transfer to?
Squirrel, wish I could go for a run in the morning, but I just cannot get my lazy backside out of bed. I just can't seem to do mornings.
Sally and all the other peeps who're poorly, hope you get well soonToo much month, not enough Cash!

The thing is snags, Autistic/ASD kids to swear and are sometimes violent. That's how it is. The school should be aware of this and they should be able to deal with the behaviours in a positive way. If they can't then this really isn't the right school for Ryan.
First of all, does he have a statement? Do you have a named children with disabilities social worker? Not just the duty team. Getting them involved is crucial, don't worry, it isn't the big scary social services, they are a team of people who are there to ensure that a child with special needs gets the support they need, at school and out of it.
Before I go on and onI need to know where you are at with getting things official, statements etc. We can then take it from there.
Don't worry though, this could be the best thing for Ryan.
We don't have anything - I've always been told he's not 'bad' enough to need a statement, or extra funding, or any help at all really.
I just don't know where to start."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Snags, are there any local groups for ADHD/ASD that you could contact and get help from?Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Ok, no problem.
First of all make a call to the children's schools and families department (social services) and ask to be put through to the children with disabilities team. Once through, tell them that Ryan is diagnosed with ASD and that you need an assesment for a statement. Tell them that his current school have excluded him and that it is not appropriate that he return as they are not equipt to help ryan or meet his educational needs. This puts him on the priority list as he isn't currently in school.
So, that's step one. I would also suggest making a call to the local parent partnership. This is a fab organisation who help parents get their kids through the whole school/ statement procedure. I've looked up your local one and I think it's this one http://www.leedsparentpartnership.co.uk/advice-information/special-educational-needs/
There are also the helplines from the national autistic society. There is the Advocacy for Education Service support line which is on this link

You can also make a call to the doctor who diagnosed Ryan, I assume he saw a consultant at the hospital. He/She can make various referals for you and it does help to speed up the process and get things moving. Sorry, I know it's a lot of phone calls and is a bit overwhelming. But there is help out there, you just need to know your rights and know who to go to, sadly this information isn't given out when it should be.:A

It's not a normal thing for me - would like it to be but I'm usually rubbish at getting up. Was awake early and was a lovely bright morning so just went for it.
