I'm with O2 carphone warehouse. I was offered the following deals when i got through to the 'loyalty' after asking for PAC. I very rarely go over my min/text allowance.
400 mins, 1000 txt and unlimited O2 to O2 calls - £9.50 per month
(18 month contract - sim only contract)
200 mins, unlimited txt and unlimited O2 to O2 calls - £19 per month
with C902 phone on 18 months contract
400 mins, 1000 txt and unlimited internet browsing - £30 per month
with HTC HD touch on 18 month contract
I initially asked what the cheapest SIM only deal with free O2 to O2 was. Then asked about
contracts with C902 and HTC HD touch.
I took the latter deal as the HTC HD touch is amazing. Orange do a similar deal at £35 a month which i was considering.
So chuffed to get this :j0 -
OK So I followed Martin's Advice, I wasn't majorly worried about keeping my contract so i rang up to cancel my £25 a month 02 Contract i used to get 200 mins and 400 texts. Anyway they asked me why i was cancelling and said i couldn't afford it. I said to her that i was going to go PAYG with orange. She then offered me an amazing deal... wait for it...
200 Mins 1400 texts Free O2 to O2 Calls for £10 but not only that. I get £150 credit so for my 18th month contract all i need to pay is 3 months worth!!! So All that for £30 for 18 Months Great deal!!
Thank You For Advice Martin!!!:money:0 -
Just managed to get:
400 Min, Unlimited Texts Unlimited Internet Data and a Nokia 5800 (Had to pay 67 Pound for it) for 14.47 inc Vat per month! - 18 Month contract.
Mind you I have been with Orange for a good few years and when said I was off to 02 as I wanted an iPhone so I could go surfing with unlimited internet they seemed to be more than happy to help me out.
Wasn't without its problems though (I think initially I had been lied to about having unlimited internet) but after a couple of days and a line manager later, they sent me a screen dumo prooving the contract I was going to be on starting todayResult.
One tip I would give is to record your conversations with retentions if you can, I have a feeling they have a tendancy to offer a little too much to keep you with them then conveniently forget to add it on.

Iv already posted something like this on the Vodafone retentions topic but ill make this quick! I followed the tips in Martins guide and i also made sure i persisted and kinda kept quite after i said what i did so that the guy on the fone had the uneasy pause to deal with! As it stood i was on a £20 per month deal, 500 mins and 1000 texts, and vodafone family for another fiver. I kept saying i was unhappy and wanted to leave as i could get a far better deal and each time he offered me more till eventually the deal was so good i would have been a fool not to take it. I managed to get a 12 Month contract, with 900 minutes and unlimited texts, with free vodafone family (free calls to 4 voda numbers), all for 20 quid a month! lol i am so chuffed with this! I do love a good haggle!0

18 mth contract with 3 ends in about 10 weeks time & have been phoned twice to see if I wanted to upgrade. Couldn't talk on either occassion but rang them myself today.
Spoke to very nice Asian lady who first offered me a worse phone than I already had & then the Nokia 6220 for my current plan cost of £15 pm, instead of the £22 pm the 3 shops charge.
At least I think that's what she said because I really struggled to hear her clearly & she struggled to understand me.
I asked what was the best deal on the Nokia N95 and Samsung Tocco and again have to say I'm not quite sure what she said but sounded like £27 pm for the Nokia (exactly same as in the 3 shops) and £24 pm for the Tocco (£2 pm MORE than the shops offer!)
My question is how do you haggle/negociate with someone who doesn't really understand English?0 -
i am a PAYG with orange.

Please speak to Retentions.
They offered me for £24.46
1100 mins
200 text
unlimited landline
250 mg a month (for another £5) 500mg
A FREE HTC Touch Hd

I'm really pleased! Just upgraded with vodafone and got a brand new samsung tocco plus my original price plan of 750 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile internet for only £25 a month instead of £40! Way cheaper than not only vodafone but also any of the other deals I'd found online, plus haven't got to fuss around with claiming cashback as the discount just goes right on my bill. fab stuff!!!! :T:T:T0

im having serious issues just trying to get through to retentions! admittedly im an (o2) pay and go customer who only spends about a tenner a month, but im making it quite clear im willing to spend extra.
ive been ringing up customer services and asking for my pac code, and they keep trying to tempt me with all the deals available online, but nothing like what you guys are getting!
they seem quite happy to give me my pac, and even when i outright ask them if there is a better deal they can offer me, they insist they cannot do anything except what is on the system! how the hell can i get through to rententions, or is there no chance since i am not a high paying customer?0 -
Dav0s, Most of the deals that people have been getting here are on Monthly Contract deals and they were most likely on a monthly contract deal with the network before in order to get a good deal again.
Its very rare that Pay As You Go customers get any good deals, They will probably offer you sim only contracts. Im not sure about O2, But some companies used to offer discounts on prices of Pay As Yo go phones, but not any discounts on Monthly Contracts.
The retentions department is mostly for previous monthly contract customers, and that is probably why you can't get through to them.
What you could do instead is buy the Sim Only Contract for £10 a month and try and cancel it after a month or so and see what they can offer you.0
