    Morning All

Up bright and early as was at the Drs. at 8.30 for a couple of skintag removals. Bedding in WM before I went.

Called at Netto, it is next door to Asda, but I seem to prefer it, especially when I have done a mysupermarket price check when I came back. Only bought a few items, mainly fresh stuff coming to £18.81. The comparisons were Asda £23.93, Tesco £26.41, Sainsburys £27.70 and Ocado £29.28:eek::eek::eek::eek: Not everything was cheaper, Gouda and Edam slices were a few pence dearer, than Tesco anyway.

WM just finished when arrived home, so hung it out, very blowy, I appear to have "lost" a white pillowcase:mad:, luckily a plain one, not one matching the quilt cover. Back in now dry, and DH just popped to local tip as he is clearing the garage out a bit.

Not quite in to late night shopping yet, but will suggest it to DS, as he has more of a need than we do.

:grouphug: all around - Smokybabe - where are you???

Taplady - glad you and DH found you could get on with your DS's friend.

Moiliere - is there a Lidl or Aldi or Leader Price supermarket near you - or is it a full shopping list next time we come over. We will be in Normandy in July (with the 'van) - but maybe September for Spain. Would be interested in the flours.

Essexgirl - Congratulations to your DH.

    Hi everyone,

Essex-girl, congratulations to your dh on passing his HGV!
SunnyGirl, haven't seen you posting for a couple of days...I hope all is well.
Beemuzed, well done on your weight loss!
Smoky, churchie, snowy, Tru, and many others, I miss your posts too.

Later post for me as the rain and the wind has finally calmed down so I've been pottering in the garden this morning. I haven't achieved much but I enjoyed it.

I didn't end up making pie for tea last night as Mr Pink came home with a voucher for Malmaison for a two course meal for 2 (including coffee and a bottle of wine) for £29! So I fed the boys a homemade ready meal from the freezer, put my glad rags on and we went out for dinner. It's the second time we have used this and the menu is very limited (choice of three starters, three main courses and three deserts) but once again, we had a fabulous meal and the food was excellent. If anyone is interested the offer is valid until the end of June and you can print the voucher here.

Since ds (15) modelled suits at a fashion show last weekend...he normally models casual clothes... he's been begging me to buy him one. I told him there was no way I was going to as he's still growing and I doubted he'd get much wear out of it. Then yesterday I was in Tesco and they have suits (not bad quality) marked at £45 on sale for £30. I was tempted, then saw they have a blue cross sale with 25% off all clothing plus VAT back. I'm not quite sure how it worked but I paid £11.62 for the jacket and £5.25 for the trousers. So a suit for £16.87! Ds is delighted and I feel I got a bargain. :j I've since seen on the grabbit board that some are going through at £6 but I think they were the poorer quality, ''old man'' suits (ds's words, not mine). :D

Going out last night made me think I want to 'cook' more as I really enjoy it. I do cook every day but it's everyday boring, make sure they're fed well stuff. Today I decided to do something different with reduced price shin I picked up yesterday (£1.83 for a kg) so I'm making this Jamie Oliver recipe. It's only half cooked but tastes delicious. I think I'm going to try and make something different from our usual meals once a week to try and liven up our menus.

Right, I've waffled on for long enough.

I hope you're all having a good day.

    Afternoon All!
Did three loads of washing this morning, and had to us TD as it was pouring!:o
    Now guess what? Sun's out!
Did a Mystery Shopping job this morning, only 35 minutes and earned £14!:T
Got my SSP1 form today, so have applied for ESA. Still waiting for my pensions to be sorted. Never having done this before, it's a bit of a minefield!:o

OH will be over later, haven't seen him for two weeks.

Essex-Girl- Congrats to DH, I remember when my DH did his, he had waited for ages, and all the others in his firm had to take theirs twice.

    Have a great day all!

    Afternoon all,

Cold, wet and windy here to-day, so no washing out.

Best bit of news here is that the woodburner we bought yesterday is being fitted to-day...when we bought it yesterday he 'threw in' a black hearth which would have cost €100 so am pleased with my haggling skills!

Not sure what we are having for dinner...something easy like carbonara as I'm sure that the kitchen will be a mess by the time the stove is in...at least can now think about painting and finishing off the bits that are still to be done.

Hugs to all who are in need or want no doubt will be back later to brag...or moan about my new stove!

Veggie plants from Thompsons came today.

I need to do something in the garden. There could be undiscovered dinosaurs living in the wreckage.

Of course, I am completely not in the mood for staggering out, trying to work out what I am doing and trying to field little bear while I do it. I should have realised I would be struggling :o

However, it will be worth it. Little bear loves his tomatoes and last year he wouldn't go back in the house without a tomato from the garden.

Also going to try growing some salad from scratch for the first time ever  Local tomcats permitting  Also at the moment it is cold (okay, not exactly the middle of winter, but not warm), windy and possibly raining. What a prospect.

Also, old style, I am going to reuse some metal posts that were part of a bathroom fitting that didn't work to hopefully grow honeysuckle up. I adore honeysuckle.

Little bear is very little bear at the moment. He is looking like a little ghost. If he is still like this on Tuesday we are going back for him to have a check up. I suspect just a cold, but I hate him just wandering around all eyes.

Meanmarie - I do envy you. I would love an open fire of some sort, there is something infinitely comforting in one.

Hillstep - I hope all the money stuff gets sorted out soon for you. It is such a trial trying to get one office to talk to another.

Pink winged - I know what you mean about really cooking. Just putting food on the table isn't the same as a creative time.

Little bear has just found the box of raisins that came from approved food. Have to go...

    Afternoon all

Tried out an Aubergine & Tomato bake last night, which went down very well. I can't remember which OS-er posted the recipe, but thanks - you know who you are!:A

Mr LW has volunteered to cook tonight, so it'll be egg'n'chips, I expect. That's OK, we've had "new" (to us) recipes the last 2 nights.

Washing (machine full of hankies:eek:) is hung up over the bath, as the weather is changing from wet to dry and back again amazingly swiftly. We've even had some hailstones, earlier on.

While I remember, congrats to Essex-girl's OH.

    Hi Everyone,

We're all still ok and well here. Thank you so much for your thoughts, prayers & good wishes you are all so wonderful :A

DDad is now back in our local hospital having being kept for monitoring & echo cardigrams at Manchester. The cut artery & it's stent is healing well and so is the other cleared artery and it's stent :T He's having some chest pain but we're told its normal while everything 'beds in' as it were. It's been a bad few days with Dad being so poorly and the car seat broke on Wednesday morning - well the cable underneath it that moves it back & forward did as Dad stores lots of random caravan stuff underneath it  ;) We took it to the main dealers (Dad insists ) who of course wanted £208 plus vat to repair it and it wasn't ready until yesterday teatime. Mum & I got the tram & 3 buses across Manchester for an hours visit then the same back again on both Wednesday & Thursday so we're shattered. An ambulance brought him back to our hospital this morning so we can easily get to see him now.

I was desperate to log on yesterday to let everyone know what was happening but DS2 spilled an entire glass of coke over the computer keyboard! I took the keyboard apart last night, wiped everything, washed the keys seperately and dried it all out. It's now very clean & is working without all the keys jamming again. I didn't want to buy a new one if I could help it :money:

I haven't read through the threads since Wednesday morning so hopefully I'll catch up later. ((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))) to anyone who needs one at the moment xxxxx
