Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for 8th May. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning all,

Hope everyone is well today, day off today, and dd has woken up with bad stomach pains, so i will keep her off, they had an army recruitment type of day today, which does not interest her, so she is missing nothing vital.

First wash of the day is on, with two more to do, then tomorrow I will just have OH work clothes to do.

Turkey curry tonight, I need to get a corgette and leek to go in it, I also need to make a trip to Lidl today, to stock up on washing liquid, olive oil, tuna etc, may pop into matalan and see if there are any bargains.

Need to hoover through and mop floors, grass is desperate for a cut, but I may not have time for that, may have to get OH to do it tomorrow ;), ( I have done it the last two times)

Ok, better get on, have good days all, hugs where needed.

Sunny girl, how is it going ??

    Morning everyone,

Beautiful weather again today. :D Washed & made some bread early. After DGS left I did the floors & went for a walk. I was going to do a bit more weeding but laziness has overcome me. :p We have to take DD to the port tomorrow as she's off on her 18 night cruise. She's visiting the South Pacific Islands. Once we wave them all goodbye I will do a bit of grocery shopping before coming back.

Think I'll make a frittata for tea as I have an abundance of eggs to use. Fresh pineapple & icecream for dessert. I haven't read yesterdays thread so off to do that now. <hugs> where needed. Hope you all have a lovely day. Byeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all,

not been around recently - mainly due to no major OSing going on & too much Uni work, so a bit out of touch.

But done a very quick skim through the past 3 or 4 days threads just to catch up a bit. Apologies for lack of OS in this post, but wanted to drop in and say hi.

Redruby - glad you've managed to have a chat with the school, I definitely agree keep on at them, they're quick enough to say how important the kids' education is, so remind them of that point! Have you got (and been out in) your kayak yet?
Taplady, you must have a great relationship with your DS that he felt able to have that conversation with you & he must feel great knowing how supportive you are of him :)
Sunnygirl, hope your dad is slowly beginning a recovery now, it's been a pretty traumatic time for you all.
MSD, hope you're ok hon & are still managing to keep in touch with Tristan.

To everyone else, hugs for those who need them (and a non-hug for someone else HJ!).

Good morning everyone  Another beautiful day here, but means I'll have to get the hosepipe onto the garden :o I have friends for supper tomorrow (a huge leg from our Berkshire pork box :j ) so I'll be cooking for that (rhubarb fool, chocolate cheesecake, chicken liver pate) and tidying the dining room. I'm off to visit a friend this afternoon (or she may come to mine for some cake :D ).

I "did a Penny-Pincher" last night - went shopping late on and got lots of reduced fruit and veg - 4 pineapples for 20p each, 2 huge mangoes for 15p each, 2 avocadoes for 10p each and 4 punnets of organic plum tomatoes for 30p each :j

    Old Style jobs for today:
    • cooking
    • cleaning dining room
    • Flylady jobs
    • meal plan and shopping list
    • weeding
    • watering
    • ironing
    • moing lawn - but that may wait until tomorrow :p
    • put away shopping
Have a great day, everyone, Penny. x

    Mornin peeps :hello:
Its a beautiful day here again, the birds were lining up for a bath but the bird-bath was empty so I dashed down and filled it, and now its a fight to see who gets in first, my bets on the robins, bossy little devils they are ;)

SC today, beef and all the veg is out ready to start, but only when I've finished my tea and crumpet.

Ironing to do from yesterday, and must get the sewing machine out, seem to have a lot of bits that are easier (and quicker) to do on a machine.

Carpet fitter is coming this PM to do the second bedroom, then we'll move in there so we can decorate our room, the upstairs will be finished then, and we can start on the stairs, never ending this decorating lark

SunnyGirl - hope dad is continuing to improve x
    Squiggly and Sweetpeanut
christabell - hope you feel better for your good sleep
Aussie - oooo how lovely, Bon Voyage to them all
redruby - hope your DD feels better soon

(((hugs))) for all in need today
    and have good days all

Well better go and show willing I suppose ;)

Morning all, justa quickie from me as I need to go in town to get a card for our nephew and post today, but need to take the dog out and hang washing first-its very windy.

Got loads of ironing to do later but no tea as we are going to the tapas night at the pub ,will just leave something quick for the lads.So not much OS from me- though I did get into some jeans this morning that I couldnt before,so I need to check through my 'thinner 'clothes at the top of my wardrobe. If I can avoid buying new for my hols that counts doesn't it :D I know there are some things up there that I got for our last summer hol a couple of years ago that certainly I couldnt wear last year and are like new.

Anyway will love you and leave you, hugs to Sunnygirl and anyone else in need.Hope you all have a good weekend.x
