Little bear still has a bottle. I am happy about continuing to give him an evening bottle, stopping the morning bottle is on the list of things to do when I feel better. However this means one of those bottle warmer things. I am still choking on the fumes of pouring white vinegar into a still heating bottle warmer. I dread to think of the gunk that will come off.
LB is also being a bit money saving with his nappies. In the day I use Sainsbury own brand, which do the job very well, but in the night I have used huggies. I have recently gone up to the next size up in the huggies and these can also be worn as pull ups. LB did not approve of my attempt to use as pull ups. He has been incandescent over the whole thing. Nappies should not be pulled up, they should be properly stuck on. Mother, take the dreadful thing away. Now he is refusing to let the huggies anywhere near him. I had to put a less expensive Sainsbury nappy on last night. I would bet half a dollar that this trend doesn't continue. I am now, however, dreading potty training even more. Until he talks properly, however, there is no point in trying.
Nic1Lou2 - Dr G is brilliant. He is so good and gentle with little bear, and I can have a joke with him, and he understands that I have been treated for depression for most of my adult life and know which things I want to do and which I don't. I am giving it another month and then if I still am getting cold after cold I shall go back and ask again. I do think I am run down, but he is absolutely right - there are a lot of coughs and colds about in winter.
Sunnygirl - hope all is going well for you.Only logged in to let Sunnygirl know that I was thinking of her and I wrote a novel again. Hugs to all - sorry if I have missed anyone.

Good Morning All! it's absolutely pouring down here, so glad I managed to do all the washing yesterday. Ironing pile even bigger, of course! Shampooed bedroom carpet yesterday - it looks and smells wonderful! Will be experimenting with the remoska this evening, DH is selecting a recipe to try! Need to do the hard floors today, but that doesn't take too long. May get the sewing machine out later, after the daily gym visit. I lost 4 lbs and 6+ inches last month!
Hope your dad is progressing well, SunnyGirl.

How come you don't use Sainsburys own brand for the night time? I use them on my 3 year old (one day he'll be dry at night LOL) and they don't leak. Might save you a bit more as huggies are very expensive.
Anyway bit late on here today although I have been awake since 5.30am (thanks to DD!). My H and DD both have colds so both are restless at night at the moment.
Got friends and their children coming round this afternoon so a mad baking session is planned. Going to do my victoria sponge cake and they are now huge fans of Twinks Hobnobs so will whip up a batch whilst DD is sleeping.
Only one load of washing today and it's finished so will take advantage of the sunshine and wind and get it dried and put away before friends arrive. Hope weather holds so the kids can all play in the garden.
I must make sure I don't spend too much time on MSE as my well laid plans will go to pot.
My H was taken out for lunch yesterday and ate himself silly so didn't want the sausage casserole I prepared yesterday. Will be having that tonight instead so that's one less thing to do!

Well, I found Sainsbury really good, but there was a little bit more of leakage of a night and soggy bottoms were just that bit more likely with Sainsbury than huggies. Having said that, last night went just fine. I shall monitor the situation.
Actually, I am a big fan of Sainsbury own brand and basics for everything.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Morning all
Still stuffed from our meal last nightWas lovely though and no clearning up afterwards which is always a bonus
Day off work today so housework, housework housework  Having a breather after doing upstairs and just washed kitchen floor so waiting for that to dry.
WS good luck when the potty training starts. I remember a long car journey once and trying to balance one of mine on the potty as it was impossible to stop anywhere at that particular point of the journey and he NEEDED TO GO NOW!!!!
Ironing to do later - it multiplies overnight. Sausages, jacket pots and beans for dinner.
I put the washing on the line earlier and disregarded the weather forecast. For once they were right and it poured down half an hour ago. Sun is just peeping through now so hopefully it will dry now. Really windy out there too.
Hugs to all xxxx0 -
Morning folks.
Am so cross today I could burst! We were geting a new bathroom fitted today and tomorrow, so all plans were cancelled and the normal night at OH with the littlies was cancelled due to the work being finished tomorrow. Lo and behold he turned up at 8am saying he cant do it as the taps havnt arrived. Could he not have phoned last night? He actually only lives round the corner. Am so mad!! My time with OH is so precious to me and now he has also made plans tomorrow as the bathroom was being finished then. So now its a waste of the whole weekend .
Anyway rant over as nothing I can do about it!! Weather here is awful had to take the car off the drive last night as was scared one of the slates may fall on it . So jammy day it is with the boys as they both had a bad night coughing. Hopefully the inhaler dosage will get sorted soon.
Wannabe Sybil- DS1 was a nightmare to get off bottles. he actually used to drink a 4pinter on his own. We eventually gave his bottles to the dino fairy who left him a pressie for them. Decided would do ds2 at the same time or ds1 would steal his bottles. All over in one week. Now the downside is they will hardly drink milk!!
Beemuzed - That fab I wish I could stick to a diet. The kids leftovers are a nightmare for me and night times when they are asleep.
Sistercass - Glad your daughter managed to sleep. nothing worse than your kids being in pain and feeling helpless.
Sunnygirl - Hope your dads ok
Bitsybean - Tesco's own are fab too. I couldn't use huggies they always leaked for me.
Taplady - I'm happy for you all getting on with the new man in your sons life it's so much easier when everyone gets on :T. My folks hated my exoh and it was a nightmare.
Christabell - I get that problem with my bank account too. Thank goodness for online banking so I can check!!
Well off to play the Wii for now and find the cheats online. Ds1 is only 4 and between me and him we need all the help we can get!!:rotfl:Although I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:

Hi everyone. I'm not on here often these days; I'm still unpacking! Most of our furniture had to be stored in a barn while we sorted the house out, but we're slowly getting organised and bringing more furniture in, so we can start putting things away properly.
Redruby - hope everything goes well at school. I had a few incidents with DS2 at school and know what a worry it can be. School should be a happy time - there's stress enough in the world of grown-ups.
Dinner tonight is chicken (roasted in the Remoska), with veg I haven't decided on yet. The chicken here is lovely and great value for money. The meat in general has gone up in price but it's all very tasty. I've found some lovely bread flours that I've been experimenting with and they've all worked really well. There are some very unusual veggies here that I'm trying as well, so it's all a voyage of discovery at the moment! I've given up making puddings for now because the time just runs away with me. We just have fruit instead. Some things are more expensive - 2 litres of milk that would cost about £1.30 in the UK, is 2.45 euros - in real terms, it's almost £1 dearer (but I know UK farmers don't get the money they should be getting for milk, so perhaps the farmers here can still make a profit - I don't mind paying extra if the farmers, who do all the work, get the money they deserve).
Anyway, the weather is cloudy and cool here today - just as well because when it's hot and sunny, we tend to stay outside and nothing gets done inside.
Anyway, take care

Morning all,
Have had a fun time watching dd's class assembly (year4). It was all in French and tres bien it was too;)
Then I cycled to Sainsbury's to buy the wine for the weekend. An elderly lady behind me at the checkout said 'I see you've just got the essentials too', she had cans of ready-mixed gins and tonic in her basket, she told me that if she buys a bottle it evaporates overnight!
So, I've done my bit of exercise for the day, I've washed and hung the laundry-should be ready to come in soon as it is a perfect drying day.
I'm planning to make some muffins for the kids later-white choc chip and apricot I think.
Supper will be mince- possibly mince and tatties Scots stylee or maybe chilli and hm spicy wedges. Salad or veg with it.
Edit: Have decided on a middle eastern style mince with apricots, will serve with couscous and veg/salad0 -
Hello Everyone :hello:
Have to admit to being a complete OS fraud today
OH left at 5 this morning to go to Kent to do his HGV test, 7 people failed yesterday and it has been hard work for him this week. I couldnt settle so popped to tesco for a couple of bits - spent £30 but got some bargains. Still couldnt settle to anything but its all been worth it as he has passed :j:j
So going out for lunch to celebrate & having a takeaway tonight :eek:as my meal last night was cancelled and we planned this instead.
House is quite a mess especially as its pouring and have doggy footprints everywhere, however have decided that will enjoy today & there's always tomorrow..lol.
Taplady - :Tfor your hubby, imagine that loads of men would take a lot to come to terms with it.
Anyway best scoot off this board today - will be back tomorrow when OSness will be restored.:D
Oh and Mioliere, I imagine that French farmers wouldn't take half of what our lot do - is there big supermarkets where you are or do people use independant shops?0
