Lol, I'm glad you appreciate the massive risk I took with my finances when I went to get you that link :rotfl: I love Zooplus :D

    I so do appreciate it.
Luckily I was ordering on my own, if the fianc!e was here it the spend would have been much higher.

Although she may spot it in my favourites folder, so have re-named the link "Formula one results and statistics"

Great website by the way racyred, too good in fact I just spent £80 on cat goodies.

It looks like Bob Martin, but is MUCH better;)

I have best results with Oko Plus Cats Best litter and a trapper mat like these

Not 100% but a great improvement on everything else I've tried

Does the litter trapper mat make a difference? It's a bargin at £3.90 but when you add the postage for £2.90 it's creeping up in price. We use the Pura Moonlight Litter which is quite fine...great stuff for it's clumping and easy cleaning of the tray but the tracking is somewhat irritating!!

Happy to live with the tracking as I can't fault the litter on anything else but if the mess outside could be improved that'd be great.

I tried the Moonlight litter after reading on here how good it was & baby powder scented too.
    I don't like it at all:eek:
It doesn't absorb smells & it clumps like messy mud:eek:

Waste to throw it out, so I'm using it up till I can get back to City Cat.
  • I have trained my 2 cats (6 months old) to manage without a litter tray. I put some cat litter down in the corner of the garden, got rid of the litter tray and now they hold on till I let them outside! they can hold on for at least 8 hours, probably more! :rotfl: (Obviously I understand you can't do this with indoor cats or without a garden) It's great not having to buy cat litter or clear up the mess they made. :j

It really depends on the cat, if they jump the mat on their way out of the litter tray then it isn't going to make a lot of difference, but if they stroll out, as my main mess culprit does, then it catches most, although not all, of the litter clinging to her feet in the groves in the mat. The mat itself is easy to sweep and wash so for me it saves having to sweep the entire bathroom floor 4 or 5 times a day.
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

Why not train them to use a litter kwitter? Then they can go to the loo when they want and all you need to do to clean up is flush the loo? 8+ hours is a long time to wait.

I've bought one, tried it out, one cat (George) wasn't very keen, he would use it on the floor, but when I tried to go up to the loo with it, he started pooing on the floor where it used to be.
As he was new to the house, we decided to go back to the litter tray for a couple of months & try again. Didn't want to stress him out or make him dirty.

Did you train your cat(s) to use it????

Please tell me you did & have lots of tips for me:j:j:j:j

We use Catsan and an enclosed tray and it still goes everywhere, but we do have two issues:

1 - we have to tie the door open or she won't go inside so although the entrance is small it is still open

2 - she hates standing ont eh litter so as she gets out she jumps while shaking her paws, sending it everywhere

Can't say catsan is that good at digsuising odours either, but we like the antibacterial qualities.

My friends tried to teach their cats to use the loo - after over a year they gave up and got a litter tray. The cats just never really got the hang of it properly.
