you may all be hating this thread and flaming it for whatever your reasons , but if my solicitor can tell me that by them taking £500 jsa is illegal , then i can really see why everyone on here is complaining , i merely came on here for some advice but clearly that wasnt possible with some useless idiots that spend there entire life on here 24/7 , no grow up and go flame someone else's thread0

I may have missed something here, but how is it illegal to take the money if it is JSA?0

the money wasnt for me it was a care grant for my children with the DWP had informed HSBC of the incoming payment and told them to let it stay as it was and not swallow it , because it was a hardship payment , they dont have the legal right to take it , doing so would incur more hardship from said party0

I'm sorry but I would be amazed if you were paid £250 compensation for that. They may well have reversed the set off as a gesture of goodwill given that it was DWP money if it left you without enough money to live on but £250?
I would be pretty interested to know which department has done this?0
