  • This is amazing value really and surprised it hasn't been jumped on more. I just applied and got a £6000 credit limit, which at 1.9% for the year, I think will mean I can get a new car :)
  • Hey folks,

We've written a news story on this new deal, and a post has been added to the top of this thread

Took a risk and applied, as Experian is my better credit file and it's SUCH a good deal! Got the 7 - 10 days response, but that was expected as I have a CIFAS and a Note of Correction.

It'd be so great to get it!

  • Well i applied & have been told they are looking at it & will come back to me in 7-10 days :-( I bet this means a no then
  • It sounds like a great card. Shame I've just been rejected for it :(
  • I'm quite surprised by the number of people rejected or told to wait. I must admit, when I applied I didn't realise it was a platinum card, and if I had, maybe I wouldn't have chanced it. But as a student, I wonder if the household income section on the application helped as I live with my partner... still, it would be interesting to hear if any others have been successful?
  • To those that applied who are students...I remember being told at Uni that I couldn't get a mobile phone contract because of the address having particularly poor credit history, so although you can't guarantee it, it might help doing it from your home address rather than your student address. <that's a really long sentence isn't it!<

Looking at the application form, it seems like the biggest saving on big balances will be from the no transfer fee, but I think ust having a 1.9% rate is a winner too.

    Cheers to that!

    Hmmm debateable

I recently took an MBNA repeat deal of a 0% Balance Transfer with a 2% fee.

Under normal circumstances this would have meant Happy Days

But with interest rates so low, althought I will make a profit, I am wondering if it was really worth it.

Also I am kicking myself because it has meant that I cannot apply for some of these new deals that MBNA have launched. Nevermind, will keep going, striving to remove hard earned funds from the Card Providers ;)

just applied, got instant approval with a £11,100 limit! will transfer my loan with £9,400 left on it, pay it off over the next 12 months and save myself £800 interest.
  • Has anyone who applied and got a "7 - 10 days" message heard anything? It's 9 working days since I applied late on 4th, and nothing yet.
