Is there any chance of getting this if you already have a Virgin card?

As per my previous post.....I have a Vigin card and have been accepted. You just wont be able to transfer balances from it.

Getting some feedback on the stoozing site of people getting rejected and being told it's because they've already had the benefit of a promotion on another MBNA backed card. So if you've already got a Virgin Money card or any other MBNA backed card, might be an issue.

Be interested in feedback from any successful applicants.

That's a shame as I've got 23K unused credit available on a Virgin White card that would just love to be transferred to a new MBNA card. I'll watch this space too !
  • I got it :) rang them up and they went through my app on the phone - said my A&L card would have to be reduced to £500 so i could get £2500 on the new MBNA which is totally fine - now i get my £2260 transferred to my account, i can pay off my loan, my overdraft and if i set up a direct debit to pay the minimum amount and put the rest of my 'monthly loan payments' into a savings account i will make up the 1.9% interest charge over the year in my interest accumulated in the savings!

    bosh :)
    Debt free!
  • I am still not sure what to do, i wish i could find out my credit limit b4 deciding weather to go ahead.

5k would be fab for me. I could then transfer all that money into my persoanl account & pay off 5k of debt on my other credit cards leaving me with £700 left to sort out & in that year i would then pay 1.9% intrest is that right?

It would be pointless me transfering the balance as i would get charged right for each (3) of the credit cards i need to pay off.

Once the year is up then whatever is left i could transfer the reamaining balance onto another 0% but by that time it really shouldnt be alot (around 1k)
  • Ahhh i see you dont get charged for transfering the balance onto the card or transfering the funds into your account. Well that is very good news.

Just wish i could guarentee at least £5.000 b4 applying
  • It says on the money transfer bit that you will be charged a fee so i am now confused??????

    Are you sure?

On the T&C link for me (I saved a PDF to my pc) it said

Balance transfers made within 90 days of the account opening date £0
Cheque transactions made within 90 days of the account opening date £0
Money transfers made within 90 days of the account opening date £0

Just applied for this and instantly got accpted with a nice limit, which will help me out with the extortionate hike in my egg card interest rate. Althoug it;s not enough to clear my egg balance, it's a very big dent in it.

I was suprised I was accepted as I still thought I had a card with them, although dormant, I keep getting promotional mail from them.

Anyway, I'm happy :) just need to find somewhere to transfer the rest of my egg balance.

If you do already have another card with them give them a call they will put the credit limit of the old card onto the new one so you can make an even bigger dent into the egg balance. It works I did it a few years ago.
