A 1 litre club, without Air Conditioning which I would have had if it was available, from Underwood's, Essex. I think I had their last one of a massive buy in, in March on a big discount from manufacturer. I was happy to have steel silver metallic, although would have preferred red non metallic. I am not fussy about colours and very grateful to be in position to buy an almost new vehicle, I think it has ten miles on the clock.
They have no Corsas but may have some larger models left.

t stimulated me to get a new car
Good for you.
If you can save money then why not.
However the number of people with an old car who are in a posistion to buy a new car are relatively small numbers.0 -

Yes, I realise I am fortunate. I had been considering spending about half as much as I have now contracted to spend, but am stung by the high costs of keeping my present vehicle running and thinking that my last nearly new car lasted 10 years and had no major expenses beyond servicing and replacing stuff, I think it might be good economy as I can with help from my mother in law, who gets as much use from the car as me, although she does not realise it (she has dementia).
I realise I am fortunate and hope I have made an economic choice.Andrew S Hatton0 -
How do you go about getting a pre-reg car? Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.
That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.0 -
I've never bothered looking into scrappage anyway but the initial flaw in my mind is why would someone that has a 10 year old car go out and get into debt (or even buy outright) a new/nearly new car?0

I agree, I would have liked to have seen this a cash purchase only scheme, it was debt that got us all in to this sorry mess in the first place.
Like you, I will not be buying a new or nearly new car, even though I could afford to.0
