yes, I think that the 'I wanna' board should be the sub-section as the planning aspect is the major factor really.

I think that there should be a clear and concise 'sticky' helping people to use the serch function correctly. I always try searching before posting but I find it really tricky to utilise properly. Also it doesn't help that in our wonderful English language we have so many different words for certain things that the answer you're after could have been covered before but you've used different terminology to someone else. I'm hoping that sometime in the future I'll be able to go to New York but part of me is dreading have to wade through the New York thread!

Off topic I know, but I personally do not understand why anyone would mind spending an hour or two reading through a thread packed full of info that will no doubt pay dividends when planning a trip.

I think the main problem is that its not really clear what the difference between the two sections of the board are - surely pretty much everything is down to planning a holiday?

Most of the threads on the main board are still about planning, especially those regarding insurance and currency.

Agree with all of the above.

Yes, the Travel board could do with more organisation; but IMHO the new split isn't clear enough. There is no definate line that means one post should be on one board rather than the other.

Looking over the two boards, there are very similar posts on both boards, and there are threads that could easily be swapped between the two; going on what has already been moved

Not sure what is the best way forward but as others point out, a budget airlines board, or even just an airlines board may work better, as they seem to be questions that are asked a lot and add clutter.

    Completely agree with most.

This board is completely pointless and just makes it more hassle for all users.

What gets me though is that for ages us regulars have been asking for stickies of certain threads, ones whereby the questions are asked repeatedly and this gets completely ignored by the Mods on here.
No one asks for yet another split travel thread and it gets actioned???

I would love to know why when common sense is screaming at stickies or even a thread of 'commonly asked questions' it is ignored. Yet this actioned???

That appears to be the mentality these days.

Several times users have come on to the Orlando thread and said "I can't do with going through this whole thread, would someone make it bitesize for me"

    !!!!!!

I generally prefer less boards rather than more.

Yet we've received a raft of notes about the travel board being too crowded full of "I wanna" rather than actually sharing MoneySaving tips. Therefore we're trialling having an iteneries board so that the two have space.

Surely if you're going to want to have a new board, to try split up the posts a bit, you listen to what we've been wanting for the past year or so, which would have been a budget airlines board..

no one has asked for an Itineraries board, or an "I wanna" board, and i'm also quite sure that no one in the past year has ever actually said "I wanna", even with the awful grasp of the english language that some people have..

nuff said.. must go have my morning coffee..
