I won a holiday but 3 weeks before departure they have cancelled it

Sorry about that. I don't think there's a contract though as you haven't given any consideration! But you can still harass them until the sun goes down, hope you get your holiday or at least some compensation

Be a complete pain in the !!!!!!, they'll let you have the holiday if they realise you won't go away and will harrass them forever.

Well I'm still trying to sort this out!! The woman in charge of competitions at TNT magazine seems to be the hardest person ever to get hold of on the phone. Even if they say we can go I dont know whether I want to now. The whole thing seems really slap dash and incompetent.

I dont know if anyones listening to me anymore on this thread but I got through to trading standards today. They said if the competition didnt exist how can I have won it? They said I do have a case against the competition runners and they are supposed to be ringing me back in a few days.

Other than that I rang TNT magazine yesterday and the conversation went something like this:

"Hello can I speak to (her name) please?".
"She's busy at the moment but if I put you through you can leave a message on her voicemail".
I said "Its quite urgent, is there any way I can hold and speak to her now?"
She said "well if you leave a message she will phone you back straight away"
I said "But I've left 10 messages and she has never phoned me back and I really need to speak to her now"
She said "well you can't, shes busy" and put the phone down on me.

You could try asking for an appointment to meet her? I don't think they can actually refuse that if you persist. If she's so busy, then she 'must' have a PA, ask to speak to them.

Otherwise there's not much you can do.

Can you clarify, have you actually confirmed that the booking has been cancelled at the hotel? and/or flight?

If these were actually booked then sometimes it costs as much to cancel them as it does to keep them. And have you actually confirmed that this has been cancelled, or is it that you just can't get through to this illusive women?
