Does anyone know if you can get a deal on glasses at Boots? Need a new prescription filled, and at D&A I could have new lenses (basic ones) put in my old frames for £90 or buy a whole new set (frame and lenses) for around £159 and get a second pair free. Would the price be similar at Boots? Or are both D&A and Boots overpriced? tia
The ACM often has vouchers for £20 off glasses at Boots Opticians so that might help.0 -

The only voucher I had in the ACm was for a free eyetest if I bought my glasses from Boots. I am sure I have had £20 off in the past.
It may pay to try other opticians in the high street and get some quotes.0 -

Boots did have an offer on when you buy their own brand glasses a couple of weeks ago and as far as I know its still running. It was BOGOF on boots own brand frames including lenses providing you spent £75. I needed another eye test and took advantage of the offer myself...so spent £144ish for two pairs of glasses with lenses and an eye test (the glasses I chose were £124 each, but the range starts from £75 iyswim, so get one pair with lenses for £75 and get another pair of same value free, or get one pair with lenses from the £124 range and get another pair of the same value free, and so on - I think they have selection in each price bracket all the way up to £200) HTHTreasurer and Co Founder of - The Smile It Won't Hurt Club

Just got back from what is turning out to be a regular Friday afternoon visit to Boots on my way home from work! Got a few small bargains, but mainly went on a mission to use up my Binnies before they run out next week!
Shop 1
4 x Moxie Tampons (in cute metal tins!) 16 Super @ 50p each on clearance (RRP £1.90 each)
1 x 17 Summer Bronzing Kit £1.00(Pic from Eb*y)
(was on its own on the No 7 till, not shown on clearance or anything, so when the SA price-checked it for me, I was very impressed! Looks like it was an old GWP from Summer 08, but its definitely worth £1.00 IMHO)
Time Delay Lip Plumper £7.82 (£2.82 as used a Binnie)
Gorgeous Feet Mini Overnight Rescue Moisturiser 37p on clearance (RRP £1.46)
Total £6.19 & gained a Binnie
Shop 2 & 3
Olay Total Effects Radiance Face Wash £5.86 & used a Binnie = 86p each
Shop 4
Time Delay Lip Plumper £7.82 & used a Binnie = £2.82
Shop 5
Olay Definity Brightening Cream Cleanser £7.82 & used a Binnie = £2.82
Shop 6
Time Delay Radiance Booster £6.84 & used a Binnie = £1.84
Therefore Total Spend of £15.39 (& earned a Binnie!)
Saved £35.69 plus cost of GWP items
Got a very nice male SA who was very polite when I apologised for having to split the purchases up & he said how silly it was of the company to limit it to one coupon per transaction, as this is what everyone ends up doing & it slows them right down on the tills!
There were a few random odds & ends on clearance but nothing special, nothing I can remember - apart from a folding Soap & Glory nylon bag-thing with no price on it & no labels. There is a small No 7 clearance area, but no real bargains here either, a couple of Petal lip glosses for £4 & some suncare for £5.** upwards. There were the same two No 7 eyeshadow sets marked down to around £4.**.
Has anyone in the Stockport/Manchester area found anything worth getting? TIA

Used up 8 x KOS vouchers and got 8 items for just less than £1. Young chap SA asked me where I got the vouchers from cos he uses KOS and then gave me his email address so I could send him a link as he said they are free and he wanted to stock up too. Pinched a binnie that was lying around. LOL. Got some Olay wash things with a few binnies. Got some Just For Men stuff which was really reduced.
Now looking like a wet t shirt competition. Not good eh. LOL.
Have a good weekend all and happy Bootsing!
People used to give out their phone numbers to get a date....mimi you are ahead of the times love :rotfl:

ROFL! It was not a date, he just wanted some vouchers. He asked me last time and I well didn't know what to say, so I said on the Boots website. Today he said he had looked and couldn't find them. LOL. Anyway, have mailed him the link. As TIRKIZ has said, he seems really pleasant and always seems to have a smile on his face. Might call CS and tell them he is a brill SA and he might get some kind of bonus. *** My Mom will probably want to do something posh as usual. I think we might attempt the Cheese and Onion Strata done by the voluptious Nigella, and I am thinking of doing the Mango Tirmisu that was done by Gino on that BBC2 cooking show. *** Take care love and catch you soon. Have a good one.0 -
I got one of these for 78p today and used a KOS voucher http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=10041&callingViewName=&categoryId=3839&langId=-1&catalogId=11051
only bought one and it took a pound off. Is this what everyone else has been using the voucher against even though its supposed to be for this -

I dont know how you do the little link things. Didnt have the nerve to go back for any more and my vouchers although in colour, my ink has half run out so they were funny looking and it didnt scan but the nice bloke SA put it through (although he had just called over a young girl to take him off for a min cos I think he needed the loo, so could have just been he did it anyway cos he didnt want any fuss!:rotfl::rotfl:)
didnt have any vouchers in the acm that I would really use, guess I need to spend more at boots to get better ones!
Annoyed that the 200points on photo albums I printed and then was told I couldnt use against clearance the other day wasnt available again. If the vouchers are dated just that day and dont say valid until blah blah date are they only valid on the day you print them out?0
