Hi Tibbs TFH, I just wanted to say thanx for replying to my query. I have generally found this board very friendly and was a bit taken aback to see that my post was removed. There was certainly nothing in it that could be deemed reportable, (that I could see anyway). Thanx againYour fooling no one bar yourself.0 -
Hi again. Sorry Tibbs TFH, I have literally just jumped on here before my work to see if there had been any replies to my query without checking any other posts. Just to say well done on your shops. Lucky you. I have a few (8) Hairies left and 3 Fragrance Vouchers to use up so will have to get shopping. I also see that you are in Scotland. Yay me too. Tho im too far away to grab the bargains at your stores. Anyway thanx again. Work is callingYour fooling no one bar yourself.0

Yes, if you reuse your boots bag for life, one of the thicker plastic ones, they should scan it. I think you get one point for it.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Anyone got any updates on the notw £5 off vouchers? Does it scan as a boots coupon, so giving 20 points for the £5 taken off? Can you use it with other vouchers, so you spend less than £25? Does it work with a £30+ extra points threshold spend coupon even if you actually pay less than £30 cash?
TIA to anyone who could let us know about this voucher. Im gonna give it a go tomorrow, so ill let you know how i get on, but it would be nice to know beforehand what does/doesnt work so i can plan how to use it best
I used mine last night -- brillliant shop, given that I needed some Fusion blades, which meant I was well on the way to the £30 - and bumped it up to £35 in the end. Not entirely sure what happened but the £5 seemed to have been spread across all the items, ifyswim, so, for example, the Fusion blades which were £6.99 come out on the receipt as £6.75. But I handed over the acm coupon for points wys £35 first, then the NOTW £5 coupon, then mailing coupon wys £20 and all seem to have come out. Here's my shop:
Bts Eff Re-Ene20 (vitamin things) £3.54
Bts Eff Re-Ene20 (vitamin things) £3.63
Bts Eff Re-Ene20 (vitamin things) £0, 342, saving £3.99 (which is what the others should have cost, but I think this is the £5 voucher kicking in as it does on everything else I bought)
GFeet foot scrup £1.77
GFeet int moist £1.88, now 88p (BOGOHP)
Calcium tablets, £2.80 (with 60+ ad card, original price £3.16 receipt says)
60+ card then kicked in for everything else above, took off £1.02
10% mailing coupon on vitamins didn't work on the calcium but did on the vitamin things, seeing price before NOTW voucher, took off 80p.
Then I had a £2.50 wys £10 on healthcare mailing coupon, so another £2.50 taken off the bill.
Then the Fusion blades with free moisturiser (SEL £5.xx for moisturiser) 2 x £6.75 plus Trafford Centre had putting sets out so I picked one up -- a legit gwp!
S&G hand food £3.72 (treat for me)
Vaseline £1.69 (picked up at till to take spend to £35)
Total cost £27.21, total saving including NOTW coupon, £14.67.
Points received 100 (presume these are the normal points but not quite sure why only 100)
re-use bag, 1 pt
double pts coupon 108 pts
GFeet mag coupon 200 pts
offer points 200 (I think this was the acm wys £35 coupon, but not exactly sure)
offer points coupon 150 (wys £20)
Total value of pts = £7.59, so in Boots logic the shop above cost just less than £20. Was v pleased...
Discovered why Trafford Centre never has reduced cosmetics. SA said they are put out straight away at 75% reduction so they get snapped up v quickly. So I think you just have to be lucky. There were some reduced bits at ends of aisles, but nothing v interesting to me and nothing to be used w hairy or smelly that I could see.0 -
Just to add make sure the point barcode is scanned, not the other barcode which is actually for buying the bag or you'll get charged 10p:eek:....It's happened to me quite a few times so have given up using these bags now.
HTH
I always tell the SA to scan the correct one. Some of them don't even know you can do this. When bag dies, am considering pasting bar code onto a piece of cardboard to see if SA will accept that!0 -

The simplest solution is to use a black permanent marker to put a line through the buying barcode, so it wont scan anymore, then you can avoid gettign charged for the bag when you shouldnt.
