This thread really is topof the pops according to the ratings. Why? Is it just good for those who like boots or does it have amazing deals for everyone. It is such a huge thread i would be grateful if someone could let me know some of the offers that i have missed that were good.

There are always glitches at boots, so the thread is worth a daily read.

    Major one at the moment:
Pop your advantage card in the machine and hopefully you will get a voucher for a free hair loss spray at £9.99, when you spend £5 on the expert range. Currently it is at £6.66 on offer. So it actually knocks £3.33 of your bill.

Additionaly the till is seeing the £5 spend before offer amounts. There is currently 1/3 of some hair care in the range and 2 for £4 on some facial things in the blemish range.

    Example...
boots expert dry scalp shampoo, was £2.93, now £1.95

boots expert anti-d shampoo, was £2.49, now £1.65

boots expert spray, was £9.99, now £6.65

Till sees you spent over £5 on expert things, spend is 26p as 1.95+1.65-3.33

Also when you spend £5 you get a £2 off haircare voucher. I have got 2 reduced items at 1.11 and so spent 22p on nearly £10 worth of goodies

    :)

    Mandles - Hi!
hmm - tricky to answer, to get the best out of boots it helps if you have an advatage card, that way you can boost points with nifty voucher usage and get great voucher glitches - like the expert hair loss spray glitch (advantage card voucher) that everyone is trying at the moment. (see post 2114 among others)

The easiest deal at the moment for people who are not boots regulars is probably to buy something you already need for £5 or just above, eg; nappies, (good deals starting on babycare on 1/07) or sanitary care, or a £5 phone top up, you will then get a till spit coupon for £2 off premium haircare. (Trevor Sorbie, Charles Worthington etc) If you check the shelf edge labels on the premium haircare aisle you may find some of these products reduced to £1ish meaning you can get 1 free or 2 with the voucher for 40-80p (originally £8ish) check to see if your store has the reduced haircare before parting with your £5 though!
post # 2125 shows how childrens clothes can be bought at bargain prices if you collect vouchers from the boots magazine, in store leaflets.

You won't get the best deals until you start to use your advatage card and can collect the vouchers from the in store machines.
Read posts 1+2 for an in depth guide on boots!
Hope I've not put you off, it all looks really complicated at first but is easy to pick up the best tips if you check this thread regularly. hth

edit - clearance shelves can be good for a random rummage through, also develop your action man eagle eyes for scanning the shelf edge label for reductions, they are not very clear and vary from store to store but you can get great bargains.

another edit - found the expert guide for the expert glitch - thanks sally06

Hotpot 4 are the new mags out then? nice list of offers btw. Thanks Anthea
Off to get one of those mags.
    Yup, spotted them today.

I tried to get UG shine spray (think it was brunette but till said deal not met, was reduced to £1.xx) so I settled for the CW glossing conditioner (to go with the CW glossing shampoo I got last week), have also managed to get Spa Rituals 45p, T&G serum, UG everyday Protector spray, finishing creme etc - happy days. Not tried the Expert glitch yet though :o

H...Keep you receipt showing that the UG range that is reduced does work with the £2 voucher. I showed it to the SA and she simply put through as £2 boots coupon :)

Luckily the SA's in my new local that have got to know me(can't miss me as I was in there last Sunday from 10-1 :rotfl: as was sssoooo many bargains!)also want the glitches themselves, so the full time staff like serving and will happily over ride anything :)

Ach, been busy, more to do with 2 littluns. Plus not had alot to share as each time I've spotted a glitch, I've come on and it has just been discovered.

Try another SA, with the reciept though, the colour shine spray is very good according to my friend who normally pays full price :)

Addtionally, a few of the expert items do not work with the hair loss glitch, but i've not had a problem getting it over ridden, I just tell the SA that I think this is one of the items not programmed in correctly, they then tell me how it is so annoying and automatically do it without thinking :)

Started off trying to get the Cool Water Wave for men, but couldn't get it - out of stock.

Got 2 x Cool Water Wave for women, but thought what a great bargain for 30mls at £5.27, but wait for it: went shopping today and well chuffed with my haul:

Fishing expedition (catch of the day):

Ralph Lauren Style 75ml EDP for Was £10 (£5 after voucher)

Ralph Lauren Syle body lotion (200ml) £3.00

Cool Water (for women) 200ml Gentle Shower Breeze £3.00

I'm totting it up in my head and expecting a combo of £1 to pay for the two £3.00 items, but the tills were ringing as RRP, and showing as £21.37, £30 odd, etc, but because it was entered as a generic price over-ride, the Manager put through one free (with my last voucher) and charged for one. Coolio by me. He did explain that the staff shouldn't have put out the stock at the same time as the promo voucher, but he knows I knows my coupon rights, and would stand by them to the hilt. He said signage should have been up to indicate no voucher use with the reductamundos, but he reluctantly gave me my goodies for next to nothing today. One big birthday sorted out!!! Did I say I was chuffed.....:j:j:j:j:j

Has anyone tried it? Obviously I don't want to open it as it is destined as a present. However, if I like it I might keep it and get something else. Just don't tell.

Came home and looked up the EDP, and found the following:

Successfully did the expert glitch today using styling creme and dry scalp conditioner. Therewas lts of SEL and clearance sticker but on normal shelves reduction on handwash, shower gel and bubble bath-mostly Johnsons and Palmolive so maybe one to look out for nationwide?

Gutted as my store only had one expert spray, hmm, may have to travel...

  • Thanks Sally06 for letting us know about the Expert glitch and not needing to spend £5 to get it - I managed it 3 times today and came out with a bagful of goodies for peanuts!!!!
