For some people even when they straighten, if their hair is extremely curly they might have to re-do it again inbetween washes so if they have hairspray on it then it would clog up the straighteners. Everyone's hair is different!
I recently had to buy new straighteners as I had used a heat protection spray that was not my usual non-clogging product and the coating on the plates of the straighteners bubbled up and eventually peeled off!!! Luckily I managed to replace them with the same ones in the Boots sale.
HTH.
My daughter straightens her hair every day, even if its straight :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

*knocks on thread door and pops head round* Mind if I join you?
I've had my Advantage card for some time now but am terrible about blowing my points on something of pathetically small value, like a lunch or a cheapy nail polish or some such, and so a few months ago I decided to not spend my points until Christmas and see if I could get up to 1000. As I'm now at 847 I extended my target a little and am now aiming for 1223 (which is what one of those Gwen Stefani mini perfumes costs - massively commercial I know but I like 'em).
A small heads up for anyone using the threshold spend vouchers that were sent out in the post a few weeks ago (though this has probably been mentioned already): you will get the points you would have got without the spend, as well as the amount on the voucher, so could be quite a good payout. I spent £30 in Preston Boots the other day and walked out of there with an extra 320 points in my account - not bad going!"A mind needs books as a sword needs a whetstone, if it is to keep its edge." - Tyrion LannisterMarried my best friend 1st November 2014Loose = the opposite of tight (eg "These trousers feel a little loose")Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")0 -
Hi Minerva :hello:
Welcome. The more, the merrier!
Yes, the lure of the points is strong, I'm saving for perfume too, (Miss Dior Cherie) well, unless I see another bargain first!
Just a reminder to everyone who is saving points, I think tomorrow is the last day to collect 200 on the boots gorgeous feet range (voucher in the H+B mag, also on BOGOHP) the cheapest, I think, is the intensive moisturiser or scrub @ £1.99, unless you are lucky enough to find some on clearance, (and an SA willing to give you the points) :rolleyes:0 -
Hi
I have been away and i am a bi of a lurker on here, posting occasionally.
I have ready about an expert glitch, but can't find on the last few pages, what this is about
I would be really greatful if anyone could spare the time to quickly jot down what offers are on on beauty items, i am doing a pamper hamper for a girl leaving work on maternity on a very tight budget.
Any help or advice would be great
Thanks in advance.

The acm has a voucher for free boots expert hair loss treatment spray for women when you spend £5 or more on expert range. This is currently priced at £6.65 but the till deducts the full price of £9.99 so £3.34 off whatever other expert range you buy. You must ensure your other expert buys add up to more than £3.33 though and it doesn't seem to allow dry shampoo on it's own eg. 3 @ £1.30 so £3.90.
I did it at lunchtime with anti d/d shampoo @ £1.65 and dry scalp treatment shampoo @ £1.95 so 26p to pay.0 -
Just to let a few of you know whats going on in the clearance section of Elephant & Castle boots ( this is only a really small store)
I was thrilled to find
Trevor sorbie Much moisture shampoo- 1.20
TS Weather works cond 1.45
TS frizz ease serum 98p ( no idea why this must be the best seller in TS range) I cleared the shelf of these they might put some more out
toni & guy deep cleaning shampoo ( sorry cant remember the name of it I didnt get this)
Then i got my £2 hair care voucher so bought more weather works cond.:j 2x 1.35 so 70p to pay.
they also had loads of the ted baker eye gel for 79p and loatso f king of shaves shaving oil, but I didnt have any vouchers for this so left it for someone who does:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0
