Very little wiggle room with O2 in relation to the iPhone tariffs. It's a very desirable phone so they can get away with asking for outrageous tariffs and poor prices as people still buy the phone.

I'm paying £31.50 a month for the Iphone 45 tariff. You just need to know the right people ;) (in my case, my brother gets friends and family discount as his company is a corporate customer of O2).

No discounts on iphone tariffs even through retentions unfortunately.

Apple dictate the price of the phone, O2 don't have a lot of say.

O2 seem to have changed their policies, I had an 18 month contract and due to my phone breaking at around the 14 month date I called for an upgrade. I had to push quite hard for this and did the usual of threatening to buy out my contract, at that point I was then offered an upgrade to the new Nokia 5800. I didn't take this as I wanted to look at other phones and then didn't get round to it. WHen I called 2 months ago to get the upgrade, they were having none of it. I did the same thing and threatened to leave and they gave me a price to buy out my contract and explained that the policy had changed and that they only offer upgrades in the last month. I was also told that if I did wait a month, as an example that the day I called they were offering 1000 minutes and unlimited texts for £20 a month for current customers. May have been a load of rubbish, but today is my upgrade day so going to call later to see what they offer!

If I don't get an incredibly good offer, I will leave today though. O2 seems so expensive compared to other companies like Orange at the moment. Also O2 seem to have a pretty limited selection of serious phones, it's just Iphone, Iphone or Iphone. There is the Blackberry of course which ideally I want, but the O2 contracts are ridiculously expensive with the Blackberry!
