Vodaphone contract problems
Dunno if anyone can help but heres my with vodaphone, whom I have been with for a number of years.
Last August, renewed my contract with them without a handset, just minutes (125 stc) and 1000 texts for about £12/month. Deal seemed fine for what I wanted and the guy on the phone just said it will be £12/month, no mention of this being a discounted rate. I never received a written contract through the post.
I have just checked my online account and have noticed that the fixed monthly cost has just jumped upto over £20/month for March and also for April. I sent an email yesterday wanting to know why and they said that my contract is discounted for the first few months and reverts to full price as it has here.
I have sent one back expressing my displeasure and telling them to sort it or else I will be cancelling the contract and going elsewhere.
I'm still waiting their response to this but being the eternal pessimist am not hopeful
Can anyone offer any suggestions. If I cancel my direct debit and settle up only the time I have used the phone and not until the end of the contract are they likely to try and pursue me for the remainder?
Having checked, I am due an upgrade at the end of June and was going to stay with vodaphone on and improved package. Should I just bite my lip and stay with them?
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

If you cancel the direct Debit they will most likely pass it to Debt Collection, Then proceed to trash your credit rating. All just for the remaining few months of the contract.0

well, have had a partial result this morning. Got another e-mail back with more of the same guff telling me it is no longer discounted, etc so rang vodaphone direct.
Explained what had happened to the lad I spoke to and he has reverted me back to the 'discounted' rate and will credit my account for the difference of the last couple of payments.
End result is, I'm fairly satisfied and will consider upgrading with them next month.:T0
