I consider myself still a newbie as I've been doing this less than a year, but even in that time I've seen fees falling and people willing to take jobs for no fee etc. Pretty soon they'll want us to pay them for the privilege of writing up a report.
I quite agree. Today I have done one assignment for GR and a couple for RE. The GR one paid twice what the RE one paid, the report took about a quarter of the time and I didn't need to send in any receipt or photographs of anything.
I once had RE call me asking me to do a pub job at the other side of town, that night, for no fee. I told them I would do it if they would pay a fee but I wasn't working for free. Their logic was that I wasn't working for free as I was getting a meal and a drink paid for. They specified what meal I had to have though. I didn't do it, and I hope nobody else did.
REs fees are a bit strange though. I recently did a gym visit for them, which paid 3x their usual fee and was actually easier than the pharmacies and pubs and other stuff which pays less.Happy New Year :beer:0 -

Thanks TG. I had a great day! :T I did spend some of the money earned (in the future) on some summery tops!! Cheeky!! I will now spend the rest of the evening writing up the reports.
BTW, not going to do any of the non-mileage jobs! They seem to have become a mini version of RE!! Appalling!!! :mad:0 -

Scub - can you give more info. on the GR clothes retailers? I've never seen them. Is there any specific criteria e.g age range.
Ta
Nope no age criteria (the shop has clothes ranges for all in theory depends on individual branches though). Fee isnt great but I shop there fairly often so worth it for me - plus you can return purchases. Never seen the retailer on there before so either a new contract or just one I wasnt eligable to see before.:jIt’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

I like these jobs as they are quite straight-forward but you have to travel a fair bit to get to the places (well, I do anyway as there are none in my immediate area) and it's just not going to be worth it without the mileage.

Is anyone around with a few words of wisdom re GFK?
I had a job appear which said that you shouldn't accept it if you have been there within the last 4 months. I last visited on 14th feb so 4 months would be 14th June. The visit is for tomorrow, 7th June. I called GFK yesterday to see if it would be ok to do it as it was only 7 days out, but they haven't called me back.
I don't want to do it if I am not going to be paid because it is quite a long job. I know TNS are strict on the rules because I was one day inside the limit on the last wave (obviously different store) but they said no.
If anyone has experience of this, I would be grateful xSPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

Me too:beer:0 -
Exactly SC, the last time I said this I was almost shot and I was talking aboout the RE job which paid as much as a sandwich. There were many people that came up to say that they had no choice but to do these jobs etc, the thing is you must be rich to do these jobs as to most people they make a loss and not a profit without adding the effort put into them
Where are those people now, given up Msing all together?
The problem is that some people think a free microwaved meal and half a pint of beer is worth spending 45 minutes writing a report. Personally I can only assume they just spend 10 minutes on the report instead of doing it properly. Thus of no use to the company at all.Happy New Year :beer:0 -
Work seems to have really dried up here. I only have 1 shop until the end of the month and it's not a well paid one!
I don't understand how people can have soo many jobs - I know it's area dependent and fasted finger but I honestly have nothing at all in my area (I don't live in the sticks!).
I'm crossing my fingers for something to come up really soon.'Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.'
