    !!!!!!?!?!

Actually I'm out and about most of the time because I am registered with several mystery shopping companies and I make a full living out it, since I also do London Underground surveys.

I just type very fast and post a lot of one liners in the arms, which can easily come 30 an hour.

    Does that help? ;)

Wow, LU surveys sounds really cool. I presume they don't let any old shopper do them though. :(

I believe the correct answer is, it it's something you can take home and keep, it's taxable. My personal view is, if it's something I wouldn't have bought were it not for the fact it's work, it's not taxable pay.

I know this has came up a few times on this thread and I can refer back to a phone call I made to the Tax office when I first started as self employed. They did tell me that if you get to keep and use the stuff then it is payment in kind, mainly they said if we are not assessing the quality of the product for a job then it is taxable income.

    so that gives
    fee £5
    shopping re-imbursement £4
    taxable income =£9

Meals etc are different if you are asked to comment on quality, content etc because that is part of the assessment, HTH
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

The Chemists for RE, I found that if you say you suffer with hayfever worse at night, then they recommend the Drowsy tablets as they will help you to sleep. Hope that helps

LOL! I did try that. I blamed husband and said he insisted he could only sleep with the bedroom window open, but it made the symptoms worse for me so the drowsy ones might be better, but she still wouldn't budge and said they make you drowsy and don't knock you out.

My horsie didn't win - it came third but I wasn't allowed to do an each way bet :(

Does anyone know if you can do multiples like Yankies, Patents etc? Hubby was asking as he said he would like try that if there's a football betting scenario in the future.
Here I go again on my own....

As far as I know, you can use either spelling - I use AMBIANCE.

Back to the load of reports I've got to do tonight.......................

I usually say good atmosphere as that takes up more letters :)

Well I got into them because I was already working for the marketing company who got the contracts - I was a mystery shopper with them. Been doing it since 1997. Then the company was bought by one of the big ones and another big one I was also working for got more transport contracts.

So now I do three LU surveys and one TfL on the buses. That's my bread and butter, and I love it because I get all around London and now know the system without needing a map. Tomorrow I have one at 7am and another at 1pm.

For these surveys you need training and attend regular briefings. It can be quite tiring at times but I'm used to it. :)

The mystery shopping I do gives me the freebies and treats. ;)

Please don't think I'm showing off as English is the only thing I'm good at!
Enquiry: Used for asking a question, ie: Where is the cheese.
Inquiry: Is for making an investigation, ie: There will be a full inquiry to find the cause of the train crash. HTH.
Such a shame then that some of the MS websites' spell checkers think that enquiry doesn't exist!

Online spellcheckers use American English, in which inquiry also means "enquiry". I get very irritated when spellcheckers change "proper" English. Which is why I don't use them.

Anyhow ... TNS ... I'm doing my first "big" supermarket shop for them tomorrow. I've only even done small supermarkets for them.

Just looking at the paperwork, oh my goodness, there are so many departments I have to visit and ask questions. Do I have to make a note of the persons name and description in every department? There are about 20 different areas I need to visit!

    Hi TG

I used to find that it looks like you have to visit about 20 depts from what you print out in the brief, but if you log in to TNS and then go to my visits and click on the supermarket one, it will list the specific depts you need to visit - usually about 4 or 5, so you don't need to do all the ones in the brief, if that makes sense?
