I'm slowly getting there. I've done 3 jobs in the last week (Abai and Gap) and have 7 more booked for the next week (Abai, Gap and MCE).

I have registered with every company on the front page of this thread, but several are not accepting clients right now. Waiting on a couple to mark tests etc.

I have a couple more newbie questions if you can bear with me once more?

RE - showing up as probationary, which makes sense ;) I have widely defined areas and am in the south including London, but the only jobs showing are 2 pub lunches 38 miles away. Do I have to do a job/number of jobs with them to be able to see the type of jobs that others in my area are mentioning?

BARE - Every single job in my area, or phone job says that you need a minimum of 5 jobs with them before you can apply. I tried applying for a jeans job anyway (minimum of 8) and never heard back. How do I get started with them. Is it just a matter of waiting and waiting for something in my area that is offered to newbies?

Optimum Contact - need to do the online trial. Is it worth it? Do they have many jobs available?

Thanks again, your collective advice has been invaluable!

Has anyone worked for ISC? I got accepted but received a very badly written (grammar and spelling wrong!) email from them. Surely a legit company who expect great written reports wouldnt send out such a poor email??

ISC are not an English company so the english is sometimes a little broken but I have done a few assignments for them and found them to be very good but I haven't had a job with them for ages now :( They just email out to you is they have a job available

    Hi
RE. You have to complete one assignment and wait for it to pass , then you will be off probation and able to see more jobs in your defined areas.
OC. This is a great company (in my opinion). I don`t get a lot of work and when they do appear it is often fastest finger first!

RE - you have to do a first job before you can see others, for me I could only see the pub ones until I'd done my first, but other people have managed to get others for the first job.

Bare - keep doing what you're doing, eventually they'll assign you one, a few people have had emails or phone calls about jobs they want redoing or have been let down over.

OC, no idea not got around to registering with them yet myself.

And a minor ranty moment GAP shoppers in the nw stop nicking all the stamp jobs in my area, I need to get some posting done and now have no jobs locally coz you got to them first. :p

Very good company, however not a great amount of work comes through from them, but the jobs I have had are very well paid

So now I feel stupid! Checked my BARE profile, and they started me out with an average rating of 5 (0 jobs done), so I applied for a phone job.

It usually says if there is anything you cant buy - I've never seen them saying no postage stamps as thats what I usually buy/ or I post packages for work ;)

As far as I was aware, you cant buy stamps but you can send an item over the counter (but you must obtain proof of postage so you can upload it to Gap) or you can buy anything in the post office shop to the value of £5.
Its worth noting that if you choose the postage option, this does not have to value £5

But you do still get £5 reimbursed
