At the bottom of the personal information page at BARE, they have a section saying what they will/won't do with your data. It includes the following paragraphs:

Bare Associates International does not rent, sell, or share ANY personal information about you with other people or nonaffiliated companies.

Your information is accessed only to provide you with information in order to schedule you to mystery shops/audits and to pay you for performing said shops. We limit access to personal information about you to employees who we believe reasonably need to come into contact with that information to provide services to you or in order to do their jobs. We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that strive to comply with all applicable laws around the globe that are designed to protect your privacy.

I'm not sure they followed their own rules! Though they may try to get round it by saying that it is only NONaffiliated companies they don't share with, so affiliated ones are ok. I can't see a list of affiliated companies on their website, though!

I signed up with react too, a couple of months ago, but have not had any work from them yet. Anything I can do?

Andy - really laughed at that one. When I do burgers etc and ask for a receipt nobody looks at all surprised - think I will try to look a bit more furtive in future so I can get better service!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Message from BARE. Seems like their US counterparts messed up.

I and my team have been made aware of an Email that has been sent to some of you from Beyond Hello Mystery Shopping.

This is something that the head office in the USA is dealing with. I would like to assure you that this is NOT a scam.

I will be looking into why this has happened full time today and will have the full picture by the close of today.

Nice to know something is happening. I wouldn't mind it there were loads of jobs on the other site but there isn't..... anyone can have my details as long as it is legit and I get some extra work.....

Be interesting to see what they say by the end of (presumably the US's "today").
Quite honestly the thing that rings alarm bells is the demand for as they say "Social Security" number. In the US getting hold of this number is the easiest way to commit identity fraud-OK NI numbers aren't quite as bad -but to just write saying-OK we got your details (how much beyond contact details we don't know-we have no idea if bank details were shared) and now we'd like another piece of identity info about you without giving you any information about our credentials or track record. They obviously think we all came down in the last shower !!

I'm very disappointed with Bare over this even if they have kept with the letter of DP laws they've certainly broken the spirit of them. We hear over and over from these MS companies about how confidentiality is vital......well doesn't that work BOTH ways ?
