That sounds very accommodating of them. I am doing my Masters degree in modules and am having a break this year as it was too much last year, but at least i can pick it up and put it back down again which does make life a bit easier.

How much more have you got to do BOB? Would you carry on if you had more support or have you made your mind up? It is quite hard to get going again when you stop you know?

Hypno, you really are a card. YOU don't need formal qualifications to be clever! It really just depends on your line of work/ambitions whether you bother or not.

Morning folks!

Had a rubbish sleep. Emails on blackberry telling me I have a busy day ahead, and my plans for the day are out of the window. Strangely, I don't miss my OH when he works away, but I am today. Oh well, work will take my mind off me!

evening chaps/chappesses, well I didnt get the job I applied for. But I have been offered a different role instead within my own management structure. So I have accepted. Not my first choice, but it is a role I have considered before.It is entering a challenging time,with a new IT system being rolled out this year, and lots of other challenges and projects. Last two blokes who did it have not coped very well, first one long term sick with stress and second one with high blood pressure and a case of the shakes. Apparently they can't multi-task. Stand back - girl power! Managers want someone "with a strong personality" to "sort it out"

One of my current staff has put in for a move to stay with me, so I am feeling very loved and wanted.

You sound very positive about the new role MissKJ - and how lovely that people want to stay working for you as well, you should take that as a massive pat on the back. I'm disappointed for you that you didn't get offered the job you were interviewed for, but who knows, this could turn out to be a really good step for you. Fingers crossed anyway!

Thankyou EssexHebridean, no point in stamping feet like a spoilt child, I do consider myself to be lucky in the current economic environment to have a good job with a pension. I think my applying for the other job gave them a nudge to offer me something else. I still have another application for another job in the pipeline, just need to make sure it is worth going through it all again really. Onwards and upwards!

I will be getting back to my DFW plans again this week, getting close to OH's payday again, and looks like we are just going to make it through. Just!

thanks mrscmr, as you can see I havent actually "ahemm" been entirely up front about the amount of family debt we have.You know more! but one step at a time. My lovely family are great about it all. They know how hard i am trying and I will never put them in a home that smells of p*ss!

actually i havent included a teeny 20k 'loan' my dad has given me... in my totals.. i am paying him back but i will be about 148 years old when i am finsihed paying it off!xx
