I remember my old machine i would thread it and leave the thread lying across the top of the bobbin. Never had this much difficulty with it0

yeah but its just the end bit i am sruggling with, put it in the machine and seem to thread it right it just wont pick it up. getting too frustrated, almost in tears (get a bit over-emotional when i am annoyed) so OH is having a look and seeing if he can do anything0

oh dear. i think it might be broken if its still not working? where did u buy it from? What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

got it from a business seller on ebay. Was working ok until i tried to change the bobbin though so really do think its my own stupidity0

Sounds like it's a problem with the bobbin - this may help (step 13 onwards). Make sure the bobbin is pulled down the little slit of the case and caught in the little groove. Just leave an inch or two of dangling cotton and, if the machine is working, the top thread should pick it up.

I was told to place a bobbin in a sewing machine or bobbin housing, so the thread makes a no.9 shape around the bobbin and hanging down on the right hand side, if that makes sense!
It may be worth a try!

There is normally a little ridge the bobbin cotton has to go under slightly.
The bobbin rotates clockwise and you pull the cotton back on itself and hook it under.
In post #9 you can see the little lip at the bottom of the picture. Your machine should have one too.
Leave long cotton threads too.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4.............................NCFC member No: 00005.........
