I add a couple of spoonfuls of Philledelphia soft cheese into a curry (At the end of cooking, after taking it off the heat). It makes it lovely and creamy, which is good if you don't like your curries too hot or are cooking for children. :)

We add flavour to cottage pie by rinsing out the ends of pickle, ketchup and chutney jars and adding it to the mince.

ooh you beat me to it - I always put some cocoa powder in my chilli too! And instead of white wine in risotto I put a splash of own label sherry - great minds....:T

One mistake not to be recommended is adding some frozen summer fruits in syrup to bolognaise sauce. I'd taken it out of the freezer thinking it was a bag of frozen red wine, but realised as soon as I added it that it looked a bit 'lumpy'. When I saw the strawberry I knew :) Trying to be frugal I fished the fruit out, added a load of seasoning and red wine, and told OH that the wine was a particularly 'fruity' vintage ...

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I might skip that one if thats ok.

There are some really good ideas here that I might steal :D

zippychick I'm sorry for being an echo:o

Now I know you have all been wondering how my bol with extra spag went:rotfl: I stirred it a LOT so all the hoops broke up and no one noticed a thing. Mind you my lot shovel it down so quick they wouldn't if I had slugs in it;)
