Most was about £330
Least was £80
After paying for the space that is."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
Made £58 today not bad!.
my sister was with me and made £50
we got rid of things we might have just thrown.
It amuses!! me I sold a load of opened/used make up and creams!! old magazines go well at 10p each it all adds up!!
Did you go vicks276?0 -
Best was £180 - selling off stuff for M-i-L, who was left with sorting out the stuff from the house of a friend who died
Least was £35 at the local village table top sale - but I have no idea how we made even that much - all we had was a load of old tut that I was about to fling anyway (a gazebo that was a nightmare to put up went for a fiver!). It still ended in profit, as I picked up a lovely set of M&S crystal glasses still in their box for a couple of quid - stuck them on ebay to see how they'd do, and two bidders got into a war over it - and they went for £22!!
The average is about £60-80, as the kids are grown now, so there's no clothes or toys to be flogged!Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0 -
only one i ever did i was so naive only took the gate money less £1, at the start i had several things i was going to sell for £5 (worth more) and was accosted by professionals as soon as i opened the car boot not expecting it and flustered they put a few quid in my hands with the items already being put into their bags even though clearly marked with price and i was too embarrassed to say..........actually i want a lot more.........0

Come on then don't leave us thinking!!
Ok, I suppose talking about it would make me feel better.
First the mitigating circumstances... my then GF and myself wanted a trip to paris but didn't have enough money so decided to do a car boot of all the stuff we wanted rid of. Amongst a lot of junk was a faulty stereo. Can't remember the model, but it was top of the range at the time and cost £100's when new (prob near £1000!). It turned on etc but had trouble playing stuff back after 10 mins, and other major faults.
We had plenty of enquiries about it and as soon as we mentioned it was faulty it put everyone off even with a give it away price.
Near the end of the day it was one of the few remaining items left. Then this family approached us with a young kid whose birthday it was. As soon as he saw it, he wanted it. The Dad said his son was really upset as they bought a stereo (from another car boot) for him the day before which turned out to be faulty and really wanted a working one to 'make his day'. He obv didn't have a lot of money either.
You can probably see where I'm going with this one.
He asked if it was all working, and the GF whispered to me to say it was. That, and the need for money meant I told them it was working fine, but just being replaced with the new model. The GF gave them a quick demo of the working parts when connected to the mains at another pitch. Rather than the £5 or £10 I was hoping to get at best if faulty, I think he paid well over £50.
Haven't told anyone that story, not even the wife
Am I forgiven?0
