if you input your last training run into Fetch and go to the tab predictions, it gives you an estimate of your time for each distance race....

Thinking I might start doing 10k's and planning a route and seeing if I can get my time down..something to work towards!

10k  I'm still on trying to get a sub 30 minute 5k yet. I could be here sometime :D

You running dudes, any advice on how to improve on my time? Is it just keep going out and doing the same run each time and pushing myself a bit harder than the last or should I be doing maybe 4 miles on one run, then try for a quicker 3 the next time?

Don't ask me!!! my 5k race last week was 37minutes! Why the need to get below 30mins before moving up?

not that i'm not impressed, cause i am! very!

There's a theory that anything above 4 miles takes you into a realm of training benefits... i do 3 miles twice a week, and 1 longer run of 5-6miles... that's while training for my upcoming 10ks... that's as much as i can fit in with family life...

plus other exercise if you like it, i do gym swim maybe once each a week...

    It definitely sounds rude :rotfl:

Well done Luc - I'm still on a 'yay I'm running again' high after the weekend, isn't it good? I've been playing with Fetcheveryone all morning, getting routes planned out etc :D

I want to try and get under 10 minutes a mile, does that make me weird?

See I think I would probably end up crawling for half of a 10k. There is on at Whipsnake Zoo on 7th June, and was thinking of entering maybe do run a bit, walk a bit, but not really sure

nope, not wierd at all.... you must be pretty good though so stop hiding your light under a bushel!! you might find if you extend the distance you will fall under 10min miles naturally, rather than pushing thru in relatively short runs... try a 4miler even once a week and see if your splits are quicker... i bet they will be, my last mile is always my quickest one....
