What I cannot understand is why if the OP has received legal advice is she now asking for advice from a bunch of strangers who may or may not be legally trained?
Perchance OP needs absolution for their deeds.

Does being a lawyer make me legally versed? ;)
I am a barrack room lawyer and use fists, does that make my thoughts correct?

Lisa said, “You are trying to cause trouble, telling me the toilets aren't clean when there's nothing wrong with them. I went in there after he [Rich] told me about it, and I blocked the toilets off to clean them. I wiped that seat with a white kitchen cloth, a paper towel, and it came back still white.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: I wouldn't want to eat in any establishment that cleans a toilet seat with a kitchen cloth:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

You may find that given the short notice, you can get a right bargain with a venue that would otherwise have an empty room on the day. In BBC3's "Don't Tell The Bride" the grooms often manage to negotiate a big discount for booking at the last minute.

Hey - I am having similar issues - apart from my venue just decided to cancle on me with 4 months to go because they had a bigger and better event on. Lots of wrangling and trying to get them to pay for us to move it now as teh event is going to be so huge and loud that even though they have backtracked and said we can hold it there after all, it is going to be horrid.

Calling them today to see if they will offer to settle with us so we can all move on - do send a post to let me know how you get on. good luck

Sorry to hear you've been having similar problems, but at least 4 months is still a decent amount of time to sort things somewhere else if necessary. The extra expense is a pain though. We're concentrating on sorting things out with the new venue and will pursue things afterwards with the old venue. Only just over 5 weeks to go, and still quite a bit to organise so we think it's best to concentrate our efforts on the actual day as a priority. Excited now though, as we have found a lovely venue, run by lovely people - going down there this evening to pay our deposit and go through everything with them.
