Problem with a thomson 'box'

Having tried ALL the recommended 'fix its' Mine is still in the standby Red light mode, with the occassional flash. There is also an intermittent green light flashing, and this has been going on since the download of the EPG on sunday. Which appears to be the root of everyones problems.

Some have been lucky and have managed to get the box working again by all the jiggery pokery but a lot like me cannot get anything.

It's only 8 months old so now i have found the actual argos receipt I'm going to take it back there and hope that I can get a replacement

Same happened to me on Monday fortunatly its in the bedroom so didn't miss the footie....anywho, i turned it of at the wall then swithched it back on but it just stayed orange so i left it a couple of hours (on orange) an it returned to red by itself (i haven't seen the other thread but off to find it) i just got a txt from tutv saying "IMPORTANT!: We're sorry if you're experiencing problems with yourThomson TUTV box please go to www.topuptv.com/help+centre now for advice........ but when i go there the page is unknown???

After a lot of cursing and much stamping of feet and threats to hurl it out of the window!
I had another go, as mine was stuck on the red (unlike most stuck on amber) using info I had gleaned from the other site. I had also checked with tutv and they had amended theirs to reformatting the hard disk only.

so once again I unplugged and pushed in the On button and then reconnected at same time releasing On button and hitting the up down left right as soon as a light appeared. I was told it was all in the timing!!!!
Ths time third attempt, the red light steadied and the unit hummed, a totally different sound than had been heard for quite a few days. Baited breath switched on, all ok but of course all my saved (unwatched grrrrrr) had all gone.
I forgot to do a channel scan until late this afternoon so I'm hoping nothing else goes wrong or the machine is going back!!

We all have busy lives, and I think we have all had to spend a lot of time getting this sorted and if it hadn't been for this forum and the other one I would have thought it was just our box, I had already played hell with O/H for messing it up (lol) !
