A new update - just given notice to be married at Bristol registry office on 17th April 2010! Decided that being married was more important than having the big wedding, so we're just having a small registry office affair and then a meal for 40 people.

    Hooray! Back to planning!

Have spoken to Harriet at the Number Four Restaurant in Bristol - the capacity is 40 which is fine but my brother's wife has just had a baby so it will be 10 months old by the wedding. As the meal is in the evening, do you think it's wise to advise them that it's probably not baby friendly, and then go out for a meal the next day with my family - my brother and his wife and baby will be coming from Russia so they can't get a sitter - but then I also don't want to have to tell my brother that his wife shouldn't come to the meal. Maybe I should just give them the option. Oh I don't know!

I would advise them that its an evening reception at a restaurant and let them decide.

Yes, I would just invite them all and check out high chairs at the venue etc... Perhaps they might decide to come for part and then go if baby falls asleep? They may be happy for baby to sleep in a car seat during the meal, but then leave earlyish?? I'd leave it up to them to decide.

mmm nice venue... seen it but never been for a meal. guess it must be great if you want to have your 'do' there - might check it out - love a recommendation (even though I realise you haven't done that!)

Good luck - and like the other poster said re. your brother and family - just let them know the arrangements and they can decide what they want to do. Its probably also far too soon to plan - kids and parents can be very unpredictable!!!!

Have just used the Vista Print trick - put everything you want into your cart and then wait a few days - you should receive an email offering you lots of things for free! So have just ordered 25 save the date magnets, 10 save the date cards, 250 business cards (changed to be weddingpath website information) and 140 return labels - paid shipping and tax only!

I can't believe it - the Manchester derby (football) has just been announced as being on the same day as our wedding :(

I'm now thinking of having this restaurant:

    http://www.goldbrickhouse.co.uk/

Can have it from 6pm till 1am with our own music and it has a terrace which should hopefully mean it won't be a problem that we don't have entertainment! Eep, I hope OH likes it! x

Save the date magnets/cards just arrived along with the business cards that I changed to include our weddingpath address. They're beautiful! I probably should have sharpened up the image before getting the magnets but I thought they'd be bigger...never mind, they were practically free!
