Thank you Linda

Well, I have now provisionally held 11.30am on April 17th at Kendal registry office. Now to confirm with the venue and the cruise! x0 -
HI Lillian, are you from this part of the world? I'm not too far from Bowness. Lucy 4 is the most fantastic restaurant, so relaxed and the food is amazing, not to mention the atmosphere!! The Lake cruise sounds fantastic, we originally thought about getting married somewhere around Windermere so we could have one. I will be following your thread with interest. Your dresses are beautiful, where is the evening one from? Hi Tiger
I'm actually from Manchester (Bristol originally but settled here), but DF and I had a lovely weekend in Bowness last year and it's always stuck in our minds as a lovely place to get married. We went to Lucy4 one night and fell in love with the place! Still waiting for Paul to come back to me about holding the date, getting a bit twitchy now though as Sandra from the Lake Cruises has come back to us with a price so we want to get booked in. Can you suggest anywhere else for 50 people that we could try if Lucys is unavailable? I've tried the Postilion but its too small.
The evening dress is also from Monsoon, hoping its not out of stock next month when I have the money to get it!0 -
Spoken to Lucy4 now and everything is fine - and hopefully we should do the whole thing, dress, suit and rings included, for £2500!0

That's such a pretty dress :-)
Since I asked my best friend to be my maid of honour she keeps pushing me toward the ubiquitous strapless big skirted ones that everyone seems to have. I just don't have the boobage for one of those! Your monsoon one is refreshing and absolutely lovely
I think I went to one of Lucy's branches last time I went to the lakes (horrible day, went to ambleside and it rained non stop...) they have a great deli/shop as well!
You're so much more organised than me! I felt proud just to have the church reserved, lol!Married Ajichombo on 17th April 2010 :j0 -
Hi there again, lucys is gorgeous did you know there is another one in Ambleside which isn't that far from Windermere

Or a little further up the road in windermere itself there is a gorgeous restaurant called the Lighthouse, the food is gorgeous and the atmosphere is lovely, or again in Bowness there is a place called the Whitehouse, which is also very lovely.
I must say it is always cold up here and was wondering how warm it will be on the roof terrace of Lucy4, just a thought as wouldn't want you to be freezing on the most important day of your life, Tiger xxMarried the most amazing man 05/12/09 and it was the best day ever, I'm a Mrs, he he!!:jWins 2009: Peroni Alessi bowl woohoo, 1 in 10 wins DVD from Maltesers, Avon lippy!!!Freebies-Bold Gel, CoffeePinecone Research - £9Mystery Shopping - £150 -

Thanks for that Tiger, I will take a look at the websites. We have the top room as well as the terrace so hopefully won't be too cold!
Linda - where in Bristol are you from? x0 -
A quick update - we have decided to postpone the wedding as we are trying to save for a deposit and it is going veeeerrrry slowly!
I will still be on here getting ideas though.
