Please do not discuss illegal issues or those that are grey areas in law on this forum. The Board Guides have been asked to remove any such posts. These include the cross-border sale of tobacco, file-sharing, breaking copy protection, hacks, keygens, trading registration codes, pornography, Russian MP3 download sites or other ways to illegally use software.
Just pointing it out, it's obviously there for a reason.0 -

And if you look at it another way:
"file-sharing, breaking copy protection, hacks, keygens, trading registration codes"
it would seem to imply that they're talking about software.
Ripping a CD using iTunes is also illegal. I suppose we shouldn't be talking about that either?0 -
errrr I just wanted to rip DVD's I own to my Mac to view later and as I am also new to Mac's I thought I'd ask here as I am lazy and didn't want to trawl through countless pages of cr4p on Google.
Thanks for the positive advice and for any others calm down and chill out ;o)))0 -

I wouldn't be surprised that the site doesn't want to be seen to condone ways of bypassing of copy protection on DVD's, so I'd consider it to be a blanket statement on copy protection generally.Ripping a CD using iTunes is also illegal. I suppose we shouldn't be talking about that either?
A disc of music could very well be free of any copyright restrictions though. I'm not entirely sure there's that many DVDs floating about with the same freedom, especially those with measures in place to prevent reproduction.0 -

It has been discussed many times in the past, so they don't appear to have a problem with it.A disc of music could very well be free of any copyright restrictions though. Hi guys!
Thank you for all the wonderful advice so far, it's certainly helped me a great deal!
I have a couple more questions please if you don't mind
1) Is there a plug-in for Safari to eradicate all ads and banners on webpages like Ad-block for FF?
2) Speakers - I have a great 5.1 surround system on my PC but I'm guessing there isn't any way of connecting that to my Macbook, so can anyone recommend a decent set of speakers I can use please?
Cheers :A “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

http://pimpmysafari.com/ and http://glimmerblocker.org/ for starters, much better add-ons, NoScript is amazing.
But personally I use Firefox...0 -

The lack of a delete button I can't seem to get over. You mean I can't click an icon on my desktop and delete it without right clicking?! Plus the whole compatibility thing is pretty awful. Plus the dgm thing - why so convoluted?
Yes it's fast and looks pretty but I still do all my photoshop stuff on the PC otherwise it'd take me all week on the Mac.
looks like I should switch to a Mac!!!! I always use the right click delete and not the delete key on my MS pc!!!
How do you log on to a network Ctrl/Alt/???? :rotfl:Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0
