Just thought I'd give a quick update on the best friend up the road situation. I think I told you all a couple of weeks ago we were doing a photographic operation to catch some yoofs that had been, basically, attempting to terrorise her and her hubby - throwing stones etc. etc. So cameras were deployed.
I can now let you know that the camera deployment was successful. Pictures were eventually taken successfully and presented to the school. Two perps were identified and sang like canaries when confronted with the evidence. Turns out that, off and on over the couple of weeks or so, there were FOURTEEN young lads (we're talking year 12 here!) involved (in batches, off and on). Five of which were the main ring leaders.
Restorative Justice team at the school are now involved big time and BFUP and her hubby are meeting with the perps in a couple of weeks. BFUP and hubby have to decide what sort of 'punishment' they want the kids to go through. BFUP's immediate answer was 'an assurance they won't do that to anyone ever again'. She'll accept an apology but is also wondering if elf and safety will allow she asks the perps to rid her fence of the grafitti which appeared about a week after the first incidents.
But it's good news on the whole and shows that perseverence and evidence can help. We now worry that the parents of the kids involved, now they've had letters, will want to prosecute BFUP for photographing their dear children without their consent!
Time will tell...
I have done most of the kitchen this evening. So I'm beginning to get there again...

Evening :hello:
Thanks for all your best wishes and hugs; its really kind of you all, and means a lot. Well I have just sat down, and I am now really tired. Since lunchtime, I have given the childrens rooms a good tidy, which always seems to take ages, but its worth it when it is all looking nice. I gave upstairs and the stairs a really thorough hoover. I have started using this "dry shampoo" which is like a powder but in a spray can. I wash my hair every other day, and on the day in between I use this. You would not believe how dusty it has made everything in our bedroom and the carpet. The cylinder was full of this dry shampoo white powder, so I think I will stop using it, if it means I have to do even more dusting! I put more washing away, so now I am up to date with all the washing, which is always good. I sorted out clothes and uniform, ready for ds and dd on Monday morning, did a bit of filing and got a few bits together that I need to give to Mum and Dad tomorrow. Dh made me some scrambled eggs and toast as I feel a bit icky tonight and don't think I could have managed much else.
Hope you all have a nice evening and a lovely weekend. Congratulations vanilla on your new arrival; what lovely news!
Take care everyone. Abbie xxx:smileyheaFlybaby Due 1st December 2009!:smileyhea0 -
Abbie - re the dry shampoo thing - why do you use it? Washing hair strips away the natural oils. Putting dry stuff through on the days you don't wash strips even more out. I'm a 'wash my hair every other day' type of girl. If it's sticky up on the days I don't wash, then I just run a damp brush through it to get it into some sort of shape.
You're doing well with the flying. But don't do too much. You're doing the most important job in the world - growing a new person..... listen to your body and rest when you need. xxI am the leading lady in the movie of my life
