Are they those old shiny round things that don't fit into the MP3 player?
Yes, thats why their called MP3 players, and not CD players...
CD's are great. You get a backup of all your music, a quality sound, the option to copy the music onto your computer and MP3 player.
If you use piracy/free music downloads to get music then at the end of the day your just a thief. Legal digital distribution is great, but with the DRM it feels quite limited and controlled IMO.0 -
You can't beat having an actual LP .... sorry Album .... sorry CD !!
Something tactile to actually hold whilst you listen to your groovy tunes and as Jaffa pointed out .... backup built in !!

they were in the news recently as they slashed some of the prices of some songs whereas apple raied the prices of some of theyre songs
The major record companies raised the prices of some of their tracks on iTunes, and lowered the price of them on Amazon. Amazon sell some songs for cheaper than Apple can buy them. The record companies don't like iTunes very much as it's so popular, but that's what happens when you sit on your hands and wait for someone else to figure out a way to distribute your products for you.
Where the major labels are concerned though, everything is always someone else's fault.Legal digital distribution is great, but with the DRM it feels quite limited and controlled IMO.
What DRM? Neither Amazon nor iTunes has any.0 -
Who said anything about Amazon or iTunes?0

Totally free music at https://www.Jamendo.com
Fair enough, you may never have heard of any of the artists but the music is still good.
Check out 'Speedsound' if you are into Dance music. Quality!0 -
Well, obviously they removed it because it was an issue
True, which is why Apple lobbied the record companies in order to get them to sell DRM-free music.and it doesn't really help people who purchased music before the DRM was removed.
There was a feature in iTunes where you could upgrade your previously purchased music to DRM-free tracks. I don't know if it's still there now.0 -
