Anybody know? -
Getting back to my other question, does anybody know if you can settle a fine / dispute once a court summons has been raised but before the case is heard? As I said before, if it got to this stage, I'm not sure whether I'd attend court to contest it or just pay up.
I just had a letter from these people saying "we have tried to make a delivery at the above address. Please can you contact Carol Arnold on +44 (0)208292 5172 to make alternative delivery arrangements " adressed to: " the occupier "
Fishing expedition ??:( oh by the way I had received a demand from dvla about £80 because I hadnt "sorned" a car (mainly cos website wouldnt accept info ) eventually sorned it , ignored demand letters and heard nothing else for last two years , so I would try SORN again to try sort it out , sorry to hijack thread , just venting a bit0 -
It can only get worse when Capita steps in at the dvla. http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showtopic=62681I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

I’ve just written to my MP about my letter. If everyone on here does the same, something might just happen! wishful thinking???0

Looks like there still at it.... I have just received my second letter from them (Inter Credit..) demanding £80 for a car I part exchanged 2 years ago....
Having spoken with the DVLA I get the same response as everyone else, no comment and they put the phone down on me mid conversation. Great customer service!!
I have sent a letter to both Inter Credit and the DVLA explaining I have part exchanged the vehicle with the details of the dealer and luckily a copy of the Sales invoice in which it shows the old and new car details as well as a date and signatures.... hopefully this will put an end to it! Watch this space!0 -
Have had the same letter 3 times over now, rung and wrote DVLA as well as inter-Credit have told inter credit to go for it and take me to court. And not to contact me again unless it was the court paper work. Then got another letter back will not bore you with the details, so I sent this letter off
Dear Sirs
Ref
Further to your letter of 2nd February 2012.
Having already advised yourselves by both telephone and letter that I wish no further dealings with yourselves, You continue to harass me. Therefore please be advised that I now DEMAND AN IMMEDIATE PAYMENT OF £25.00 for the admin cost, as stated in my previous letter and telephone call.
I now consider your continued correspondence with me to be harassment.
You have been told that I wish this matter to be placed before a court of this land, as is my right.
Have still not heard for DVLA or the courts lets see want happen
If you did every thing right then this is just a scam by DVLA with the help of inter credit0 -
Hey
I just got this exact same letter. I thought it was rubbish straight away... They are talking about a car that was 'written off' in a low speed accident over 2 years ago! I presume the insurance company, after holding the vehicle (and charging me £600!!) and disposing off it should have notified the DVLA? We stopped 'owning' the car when the insurance company had it impounded. There is no car for them to take and impound. I tried to call inter-thieves and got cut off three times... When I finally got through I was told I'd gotten through to reception and she'd get someone to call me back.
Obviously, no one called back.
These guys seem like jokers. I'll see if I hear from them again and then just send them letters until they back off, If everyone does the same they'll get bored trying to illegitimately hustle money from innocent people.
Does anyone know the situation with what happened, the car technically went out of my possession after the crash... I never saw it again. They are just common thieves.
Thanks in advance for any help / guidance anyone can give me, and to all before for the advice you've given.
Peace : )0 -
Didn't a High Court Judge rule that as DVLA do not require you to send documents to them by recorded delivery, or to check they have received them, So by the simple act of posting the document in a post box, you are deemed to have served said document on DVLA.
This makes the letters from ICIL worthless.Never Knowingly Understood.
