Advantage Mortgage Shock Offer

  • Bumping for updates =)
  • Have GMAC done anything like this at all?
1st letters received on 16.02.07 for HSBC, Goldfish, Tesco, RBoS & Lloyds TSB
  • We had same deal from GMAC but £45,000 but don't waste any time we missed out by one day mortgage offer recieved one day after deadline gmac would not extend!Gutted!!
  • I received an offer from Advantage for £14,000, due to issues around other debts linked to property Adviser went back to Advantage on our behalf and they have raised incentive to over £37,000. We are delighted naturally, but we are finding due to recent bad credit the only mortgage company that will likely consider us, and no guarantee, is Beacon. I am concerned due to some of the other threads on this site, not exactly being complimentary about them; our adviser has also stated they are not very customer friendly and will demand valuations when needed at the clients expense. One of the advisers other clients is on her third valuation, due to speed of getting information to Beacon, and most of this has been out of her hands.

This is a very risky route in my mind and feel we have a gun against our head. Of course we don't have to take the offer, and today we received a letter from Advantage reducing our mortgage payment to £401. But to miss out on this incredible offer is equally mind blowing. I will be seeking out other financial advisers to see if their portfolios might have a wider choice, but as mentioned before we have the ticking deadline of 16 Oct getting ever closer.
  • I received a offer 2 months ago of £33,000 Off and after reading all your posts I thought I would take a gamble and wrote a letter to effect that although there offer was kind it was of no use due to property value and current climate etc, I asked for a deal around 85,000 and I would be able to do a deal.

They wrote back with a increased offer of £66K.

I accepted and the deal all completed at the beginning of the month.

One very happy Man Here !

My advise is never accept the first offer, puch hard and then pull out all the stops to make it work.

    Good Luck
  • Hi

Fantastic offer. We have a mortage with Advantage and wrote to then a few months ago asking if there were any similar offers available to us but so far no reply. Would you be able to share the correspondence address of the office/department who made this offer to you so that we can write again but this time hopefully to the 'right people'.

    Many thanks

Maybe once parliament have decided how they're going to be made up (anyone else think it's a strange part of democratic process that they now get to decide amongst themselves?) they might get round to looking at the state owned banks like B&B!

I'm not holding my breath though - it's not sure they'd be thanked by the taxpayers for giving away their money!
  • hi guys ..got my magic letter couple of days ago.....£18300 is what they have offered me ...have rang them to give me more time...which i hope they do for me ...they offered my 12000 last year but i was not in the postion to do it and when i rang them they tried to say i could have more time and more money but i just couldnt do it last year ...so fingers crossed they giv me more time now as my offer runs out end of sept but i need till end of oct ..so that i am out of my council right to buy tie in :-)
