And put them on another card, let the interest rack up, consolidate again, decide these loans would be much better as one secured loan.... it could go on and on :rotfl:

I tell you what! I joke about it but it's like a trip down memory lane for me!

Was laughing before, now I just wanna :o

But at least we can joke about it now!

You did and I'm sure they're lovely ;)

Just make sure you get maximum enjoyment out of them and put the money side behind you!

Many thanks for an entertaining evening's conversation, good laugh out loud just what I needed. But with you, not at you, remember  :rotfl:

Try out the "having a break from statements, spreadsheets etc" technique and let me know how you get on!

I'm off to bed too now! Night night all :D

P.S. Back to the topic.... I know exactly how you feel losing motivation sometimes. I don't have any particular strategy except to try to distract myself for a few days. Not by spending, obviously, but hobbies, exercise etc. I also don't look at budgets etc, don't stare at excel spreadsheets willing the totals to reduce spontaneously. After a few days I find my enthusiasm returns and I can get on with it, putting any (smallish) overspends behind me and start afresh. Best of luck!

This has been a particularly enjoyable thread, thank you! :T

Also, big thank you to kathfisch for sharing this. I have become a bit of an obsessive MSer - logging on to all accounts everyday and wishing it all went away. I can see after a period of time, this may make me feel more depressed than positve!

Amazing how I went from not opening any letters or checking any balances to the above but there you have it! All MSEs fault ;)

I'm never gonna live those car mats down am I? :o:p

No, you're not! I was thinking about them only yesterday!

But just think how much pleasure they have brought to so many people! :D

Keep on keepin' on with the moneysaving! :)

Moozie, you should be very proud of yourself with the turnaround you have made, in your attitude etc! Since you first posted "too scared to work out how much i owe", you've come so far, bet you never imagined you'd be routinely checking everything!

It can be really satisfying to check things regularly and feel in control but if it gets too much a break can do the world of good!

Well after all the laughs last night (mostly at my expense  :p ) I'm feeling a bit better today.

Went to the gym aswell and got some out of my system that way!

Will feel better as soon as the HSBC card arrives and I get a result on the BA Amex apllication! :D
