Any way he could be signed on the sick - he may be able to then claim conts based ESA and still look for work.

She will not get IBJSA, her dh earns too much at £16,000.

Although as you say she should still sign on the get her NI credits, but it is worth considering that she has HRP if she is named on the CB claim.

    Hi

What is HRP and CB sorry to be dim.

So basically I wont get anything apart from my mortgage protection form signed. I just want to know where I stand really.

I doubt I am going to find a job similar to the one I have left and am considering doing an access course in Sep 15 hours a week, will this make a difference to my JSA claim (which the payment will stop beginning of October anyway) if I am still seeking a job as 15 hour a week student ?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi

Yes my course is 15 hours a week, so will I still be able to get my PPI on my mortgage paid if I am still signing on as a student

If you are still signing on to get your NI credits then you will get the PPI.

Thank you. It will cease in June next year but that at least gives me a few months breathing space. Do the Jobcentre have to make a decision whether to allow me to do my course and carry on signing on or does it not matter if they are not giving me any benefit anyway ?

    Thanks

The OPs husband has been claiming JSA and not ESA.

I am not sure whether he is suggesting that the op's husband signs on sick to in order to claim ESA.

I agree that it is unlikely but it is possible. It depends on how many hours per week her partner is working, how much his take home pay is, how big the mortgage is and how much of the PPI mortgage payment is disregarded in the JSA calculation

Currently the maximum amount allowable for mortgage help is 233 pounds per week on a 200,000.00 pound mortgage.
100.95 personal allowance for a couple plus 233 mortgage less what ever partner is earning(less the 10 pound disregard) and less the income from the Mortgage protection.
I agree it is unlikely but if it is a large mortgage and the partner is working less than 24 hours per week it is worth a try as you never know how much of the mortgage protection will be disregarded. It is a complex calculation for this and largely depends on where the mortgage protection is paid to. It makes a difference whether it is paid to the person or to the mortgage account.

I will try to find a link
