I have the latest orange thev 2.0537.1.7 and tomtom doesn't work properly on it!!! works for about 30 mins then crashes.. you have to switch off the phone and start all over again. Someone has said to me that if you turn the maps off and just have the voice and basic 2d map then it's alot better... removing poi help too but I like to know where the cameras are!!!!

I'm trying to get hold of navicore so I can try that!

sara, what sized memory do you have on your phone?

you may find that the bigger your memory, the better it works.

i would highly recommend get a 1gb sized memory.

it'll work better, i got mines from ebay for £36 inc delivery.

not bad investment i think, i would recommend it!
but, keep your eyes open, when orange release a version 3.05, get that one! all of the other networks have been able to do this, but orange have been very slow in releasing this software update.

tell us how it goes if you get the 1gb,

    Hi Skiddy

    I have got version

    V 3.0546.2.3
    18-11-05
    RM-84

Dont know if that gives you help!!??

    Cheers

    Matt
  • I very much doubt a bigger card will make any difference but as most owners with a n70 are clutching at straws all the time trying to get tomtom to work reliably it aint going to hurt (except your wallet lol) to give it try.
Btw i had a orange n70 with tomtom mobile using a 516 (kingston dv mmc) card it still crashed all the time.

Just to let you know that the N70 isn't 100% compatible with tomtom something to do with the bluetooth priority means it keeps crashing!!! Not sure if Route 66 is any better?? I'm waiting for Nokia to release some kind of patch!

Ive heard reports of n70s crashing with memory cards that have been formatted in the phone, but working fine where the memory card has been formatted in a PC with a card reader.

I'm getting my hands on a mates n70 today at work, to try with tomtom and a 1gb kingston card. Will report later.

bill, is your n70 an orange or on another network?
as i said earlier, it highly depends on which software version your phone is on.

orange havent brought out the latest software on there phones yet which is a version 3.05.

Have three brought out the latest software for the N70yet?

My tom tom crashes after 20 minutes but im sure its the gPS receiver im using. It loses the gps signal and therefore stops working. the phone itself soes not crash.

    any thoughts?
  • red, that's the bluetooth incompatibility problem on the phone. Which GPS receiver are you using?
