Just spoke to OH, he went to Glastonbury today. He's only been there a few hours and already visited the cider tent and bought numerous shots from other people selling vodka for a £1 a shot (possibly over £23 profit per bottle :money:). He bought vodka from some woman that had a water pistol full of vodka  anyone would think he's 20 years younger than he is, she shot the voddie into his cider! The music doesn't even start till tomorrow and it sounds like everyone has drunk enough already....scary stuff....

    Hi all:hello:

40SM and the other accountants - please tell me you like being accountants  I'm steering DD1 in that direction for uni (she wants a job that pays well), but I don't want her doing something she hates later in life .... I thought you said it was quite enjoyable when you get into a set of accounts, 40SM???

Yes , it can be really enjoyable when you get into a set of accounts . Some days ( like today) you have to do the boring tedious bits .... just like any other job really. I have been working as an accountant since I was 21 - so it can't be all that bad. And we are not all boring and I never wear grey ! My job is great for me in that I can work from home if need be ( useful in school holidays, sickness etc).

An accountancy degree would definitley be a good starting point for any business/management career - does not necessarily have to do accounts later on.

Sorry did'nt mean to put any prospective accountants off .

  • Thanks, 40SM!!!
