It's difficult for me to think about what I like doing that doesn't involve drinking or eating! I will have to give it some thought.

I know exactly what you mean! I'll have to take up something fun that is calorie free. And cheap. Well done on being sober over half the year so far! I have been wondering whether I can get to an average of more than half of 2009 by the end of the year. At the moment I am fighting the advice of Marcantonio Spada to go 3 months without booze as step one. I am scared of that concept. So I am going to try to stay AF until Saturday, and stick to my diet. And this month get to at least 14/30. I feel being more booze free would help my longer term weight goals too, just like Miss Piggy. The step of zero drinking in June might have me falling off the wagon so I will take baby steps in this instead.

Mackeroo - just wanted to say what a great result for your first month - well done on 9 days and good luck for June!

    Morning all!
A thousand thanks to Budgie for May, & go to it 40sm.

Many congratulations due for achievements in May. I'm gonna be there this month. I am I am!

A sad inevitability about yesterday "I'm trying not to overdo it" ha ha. Good job I "only" had 3 bottles of wine in the house. Yes, I'm afraid so.

Woke up in the dark with the patio doors wide open, lucky not to be knee deep in hedgehogs.

Then I had to ring the painters this morning to say I'd overpaid them by £100 (!!!!!!!!) & could I please have it back!

Incredibly, am not hungover. Had good walk with the dog this morning & looking forward to moving away from the above scenario. Couldn't have an easier start to a month, what with the 1st being a Monday, & usually I have a pub lunch Wednesday with OH but he's doind something else so don't need to face that struggle, then the other danger point of Friday eve I'm taking DD out in the car. I know it's one day at a time but am hoping to get a 5 day run in at the start :eek: scary!

Aye, that I am, back to the grindstone :(

I had a parent come up to me at school this morning and ask if I had a nice holiday and I obviously didn't want to be back at work cos I look tired

I was looking bright and sunny all last week, obv the 2nd mulligan of the week has taken a downturn on the appearance :(

SOrry this did make me laugh - how many of us have been here - woken up randomly with lights on, or doors open etc etc having collapsed asleep????

I know I have, thankfully no hedgehogs here, I'd be knee deep in puffins :D
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:
    minus 112.06 = £7755.32:money:

Hey WB, glad you're back in it for June and thanks for your honesty. I googled and knee deep in hedgehogs is pretty rare so if it ever happens to you then you can flog the photos :D Need to be sober enough to point the camera at them though.

Right, now we need to get a few under our belt early on this month so we're off the starting line and feeling positive.

Good luck tonight, be thinking of you. And your prickly friends.

Fay, puffins - cool. Do you think we're all as certifiable as Susan Boyle?

40SM, thanks for being our June scorer. You're a star.

It scares me to think of being in the dark with hedgehogs attacking me!

I did read that book of his/hers yesterday. It was very straightforward and it made a lot of sensible points. I do tend to make sweeping generalisations like "I will never be able to resist the cravings for alcohol" but you are meant to think about the times that you did resist them in the past and see if that belief is realistic. :T

This online checking in with other people has really helped me and also the crossing off AF days on the calender has kept me on the straight and narrow.

Thank you again to BB and thanks to 40SM for keeping score last month and this month.:A
