    Morning all!

Feeling lots more positive today. Have thought "Stuff the Expense" and am rejoining an on-line dieting website I used to belong to. Kept catching sight of myself in my SIL's massive 8ft by 6ft mirror yesterday and the sight wasn't pretty!!!

Budgie - thanks so much for keeping score in May (sorry for going awoL!!):T:T:T

FOAB - welcome! This thread is fantastic as I'm sure you'll find out!

40SM - sorry to be a pain on Day 1 :o but please could you change my June target to 30? If I'm going to lose weight I have to avoid alcohol so am killing two birds with one stone!!

Lovely and sunny here again today. Am going to fill up Piglets paddling pool so he can have a paddle later. I might even join him!:rotfl:

    Have good days all!

unfortunately, it does gets boring sometimes! but that's the way it goes.....you live on an even keel and it's mostly great but the feeling you have is the dangerous bit where a part of you just wants to go and mess it up...because you feel you can....

I have been reading this a lot about people who like alcohol and lots of sugar, they get used to the ups and downs and living life as a rollercoaster and find sobriety or eating more healthily very dull at first.

The CBT book I read yesterday said you have to use the extra free time for pleasurable activities so you don't miss your old habits, it makes sense.

It's difficult for me to think about what I like doing that doesn't involve drinking or eating! I will have to give it some thought.

    1st day for me today.

    Hope you are all alright.:A

    Forgot to say.....

Have just come back from work - one of my caretaking roles at the local youth centre.

The kids have obviously been 'hanging out' there over the weekend. I have just put 10 full size empty bottles of vodka and loads of beer bottles in the wheelie bin.

Now I don't know about you, but I find that a bit scary. If some of them weren't taken to hospital over the weekend I would be very surprised.

God that's bad isn't it BHB. When I was younger I used to drink a lot but I never used to get hangovers for some reason.

I just realised that I am 76/152 days so I have been sober for half the days of the year so far.:j

    Morning everyone:hello:

Welcome to the June " Do Something Different Challenge"

Many of us are trying month after month to cut down or stop drinking and are still falling into the same old bad habits . There is a saying " if you do what you always do you get what you always get " . This is so true so if it ain't working - DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

It may be something as simple as swapping your Goblet of a wine for a smaller wine glass . If you are anything like me the wine hardly touches the sides and I wolf down a large glass just as quick as a small . It has helped me in the past !

Or deciding that you will not drink 2 nights in a row !

Or if watching Ashes to Ashes at 9pm on Monday night is a trigger to get the wine out then watch at 10am on Saturday morning on BBCi player .

I am sure you all have your own ideas - please share them with us - as they may help us all.

Right Guys , here we go ... Let's all aim to get Day 1 under our belt as that's a good place to start.:T

    Good luck everyone.
