BHB, if you can get there, then go, it is a great source of support.
I don't go purely because no one in my household knows I drink so I don't know where I would say I was going for an hour or two a couple of times a week!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

I have been going to AA meetings for four years.
I just sit in the back row and listen.

Thank you people for the good wishes.:A There is a meeting on Wednesday night and Saturday morning, I can't make it for that time tomorrow so I don't know which one to go for or I could do both.
There are loads of meetings in London. Heavy drinking is a big problem obviously.barshamhillbilly wrote: »I have been contemplating it myself. There is literally a meeting 3 doors down from me. (3 doors .... half a mile :rotfl:). I have never been brave enough to attend. I should really, but as you say it's getting over that first hurdle and getting your backside through the door initially. It doesn't help that I'm social phobic anyway. Sort of doubles the worry.
I am socially phobic as well. I think that Dutch courage from drinking has helped me cover up my shyness. I am going to a meeting out of my local area as well so I hopefully won't see anyone I know!HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

That is what the man on the phone said to me, he said just listen and see what stories you can relate to. How many meetings do you go to a week/ month if you don't mind me asking you RA? I read on another forum that some people go to 6 meetings a week.
I'm feeling quite positive about the whole thing at the moment. There does seem to be a lot of help out there as long as you are in the right place mentally to be able to access it.HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

When I was in rehab we had daily AA meetings.
I now do one meeting a week to remind of the depths that I have been to.Living Sober.
